If Peyton Manning could tell teams how to develop young QBs, what would he say? His answer should be on every owners' desk today.
This Is Football with Peyton previewing the playoff QBs just dropped.
Dave's advice, guidance and grace when I was an intern at the Sun-Sentinel is a major reason I've been able to navigate this industry. An unbelievable run for a great writer who always has the right angle and the right take. Upward and onward.
My 36-year run at the Sun-Sentinel is over. Laid off for the first time since I lost my job as an ice-rink skate guard at 17. Cost-cutting move then, they said, too. I'm a month from 65, so please keep any sympathy for my newspaper friends who didn’t make it to the finish line like I have. I’m looking forward to doing some things I want to do so before the hall narrows and the light dims so you might not be completely done with me yet. Thanks to everyone who made it such a fun run.
I covered the Knicks for two years when I first moved to NYC. Went to almost every game home and away. What I’ll say about Knicks fans is they were loud and locked in every night, even when the team didn’t deserve it. Those fans prayed for nights like tonight, and they deserve it
Yeah brother, no one cared about players gambling until the entire country, collectively, started to worry about Texas Tech getting better at football. Good stuff.
Every single person that is tweeting “Texas Tech has ruined college sports” is going to watch all the college football games this fall, including Sorsby’s debut.
They don’t actually believe TTU has ruined anything, they are just upset a national title contender got better today.
I understand Texas Tech fans won't do anything today other than laugh and tell their rivals to shove it, but I do think they'll one day come to regret ushering in an era where players are gambling on their own games and then running to the courts when they get caught.
There really aren’t any rules. You just go to court. If it fails, go to court again until a judge says you’re all set.
Want a 7th year?
Sure
Broke rules?
Ahhhh, it’s fine.
There AREN’T any rules.
@RJSurdyk man these issues have nothing to do with one another. it's not even worth engaging over. gambling on your own team is literally the most important rule in sports. anything involving the portal is not. if the courts want to say miami has to pay wisconsin, have at it. who cares.
@RJSurdyk nope. those takes were awesome and correct. wish he wasnt suspended for a fishy targeting or else he might have a ring! He'll probably get one next year because the NCAA portal rules were broken. gambling on your own team is a real issue, unlike the portal and NIL.
As disastrous a ruling as there has ever been in modern sports. The pathway is now clear: gamble as much as you like, including on your own team and hope you are--or get--good enough that you can lawyer up down the line. A much bigger disaster than anything with NIL or portal.
Xavier McKinney lives in Green Bay in the offseason. I asked him why.
"Well first of all you don't spend a lot of money here." 😂
Great This Is Football episode with the star safety. A great discussion on why players love being in Green Bay (it's more than saving money).
@usfsucks i remember a colleague (without a team) told me he tried to go out to celebrate the giants 2011 super bowl win in manhattan just for fun and couldnt find a bar that was fired up.
My one Bears take is that basically every team that has left its city center is worse off for it. I think the Jets and Giants playing in Jersey leaves them more disconnected from the city/region than they should be. Same with SF. You just get less juice, unfortunately.
CM Punk does NOT want his Chicago Bears to move to Indiana.
"The Indiana Bears is a small mom and pop shop that sells homemade gummy bears. It's not a storied franchise that goes back to George Halas." He goes deep here. Incredible This Is Football with Punk.
@RTaub_ i live in westchester, maybe 30 mins north of NYC, and anyone with season tickets sees it as a burden to go to games. even when the teams are good.

Awesome This Is Football with Packers safety Xavier McKinney dropped today and on TV tonight.
The hardest wideouts in football to game plan against?
Davante Adams and...AJ Brown. 👀
