A lot of people share their Claude Code workflows (skills, commands, CLAUDE md recommendations) and say "Steal this!" 🤮

It's all free on GitHub, so it's not theft. But that's beside the point. Their stuff can still be very valuable.

Don't blindly download a pile of someone else's Claude Code config and run it. You won't know how it works, and that doesn't make you better at building software.

Instead, point Claude at those free repos and blog posts and ask it to compare what's being shared against your current workflow. What's different? What's better? What are you missing? Make it show its reasoning, then pull out the parts that actually fit how you work.

Copying verbatim and assuming you'll get all the answers is how you end up with a setup you can't debug, can't tailor, and can't trust.

Take the time to learn what's going on. 📚

I spend 20-30% of my Claude Code time working on my workflow, not what I'm actually building. My workflow is far from perfect, but it's getting better, and along the way I'm learning how to wrangle Claude Code and get more out of it. Blindly vibe coding is messy...

And of course, I put my own setup on GitHub too! 🤣

Free for anyone to use. But don't. Stress-test it against what you have and pluck out the parts you think are valuable. It's not complicated, and it's probably most useful if you're newer to this.

Eating a bazillion hot dogs in one sitting isn't healthy.

Same is true of building too many features into your product. Especially in one sitting.

AI makes it so easy to add things, I find myself saying, "Just one more feature..." before wrapping up a coding session.

Ugh.

Hours later, I've added 10 things, gone into 3 rabbit holes and have 40 unresolved coding sessions...

🛑 Vibe stuffing = bad

I'm coining the term "vibe stuffing" -- it's when you shove too much into the product, too quickly, without validating whether it's necessary or worth doing.

Vibe coding won't make you sick.

Vibe stuffing will. 🤮

I always start every project with Claude Code or Lovable so politely. Please, and thank you.

"Hey f**khead, I swear I told you how to do that before, you're not listening."

"Please, I'm begging you, fix this for me, I can't take it anymore."

At one point Claude told me to take a break and I responded, "You clearly don't know me well, once I start something I can't let go if it's broken. I have to keep going. I'm like a dog on a bone. Please f***ing do your job."

Clearly I need to get better with this stuff. But also, sometimes, you have to vent. 😀

What’s the difference between a good product manager and a great one?

AI has turned everyone into a product manager.

Product managers are meant to:
- find a problem worth solving
- guide the building of an MVP
- engage early adopters to prove value
- support user acquisition

Only building the product has been made WAY easier with AI.

AI helps validate the problem and acquire users but those are still really, really hard.

Best vanity metric of all time: # of features

This was over a decade ago talking with someone that worked at a large U.S. financial institution.

I bet this vanity metric still lives today. Maybe even more so with vibe coding.

Just built my first MCP Server.

I know...I'm way behind.

But it's blowing me away.

Right now it's basically a glorified API into a bunch of small web apps I built. But it turns them into "agents" (sort of), and then makes the web apps accessible to many others pretty easily.

I'll probably replicate it all as Claude Skills too, b/c that's all the rage currently.

It's freaking amazing what's possible today.

There's so much AI crazy firing around X and other places. It's so easy to get overwhelmed.

Ignore it all.

Just start.

You'll do things partially wrong, but that's OK.

Just do something.

Then learn.

Iterate.

Optimize.

Then the "Ahas!" will start unlocking at a high frequency.

When will we get to a point where people can no longer respond to emails, questions or anything for that matter without checking with their AI first?

I think we're pretty close.

It's scary and funny.

I used to be able to do so many things on my own, despite the challenge of starting from a fresh page, empty screen or what have you.

Now?

Fuck that.

"Hey, AI, do all this stuff for me. I'm too lazy to do it anymore. Maybe...MAYBE...I'll do some editing. But I'm going to be pissed if that takes more than 30 seconds. So you better get it right the first time."

When the dopamine hit comes from building something and not acquiring a customer we've failed.

Vibe coding makes building so fun and magical that all people want to do is build stuff. I see tons of messages on X about "I just wanna keep building."

Cool.

Building shit doesn't pay the bills.

This is genuinely the best time EVER to be a product manager. The tools you have at your disposal compared to what I had when I was actively running product for startups is insane. So. Much. Power. You just have to be capable of wielding it intelligently.

And willing to learn non-stop. Everyone says they like to learn all the time, most people are lying. They just wanna run their processes and patterns as long as they can get away with it.
