Most Canadian medical students do not receive formal acute resuscitation simulation until late clerkship or residency.

A new @CJEMonline Educational Innovation highlights ResusWars, a student-led competition changing that narrative: 👇

The Innovation: Developed by U of T medical students and the Sunnybrook Centre for Prehospital Medicine, ResusWars provided 35 junior medical students (mostly 1st and 2nd year) with early, low-cost ACLS simulation training.

Key Results:
✅ Morning workshops: ACLS algorithms, airway, Stop the Bleed, IV and central lines, team CPR
✅ Afternoon: 5 competitive sim scenarios with resident debriefs
✅ 100% of participants reported higher resuscitation confidence and sim comfort post-event
