This month marks the one year anniversary of CARE! We are so proud of everything we as a community have been able to accomplish this past year. We can’t wait to make more progress and change for equity in education, policing, and our community!❤️❤️
IMPORTANT UPDATE. We have made the decision to postpone the event due to the storms. We are so excited that we will still have an event in the fall and can’t wait to see you there. Stay tuned for an official date announcement on our Celebration for Equity in Ed page.
It’s great to see continuing national coverage of how terrible, divisive bills like HB1134 were defeated in Indiana. Thank you to the phenomenal Dr. Ibram X. Kendi (@DrIbram) )for sharing this victory & thank you to all the incredible Hoosiers who used your power to kill the bill
Have you watched this yet? If not, you should. Racism is felt by POC that live in Carmel. The delusion that “it does not happen here” is not acceptable. So often, institutions hire or create equity directors so that they can say they have worked towards diversity.
But, the work needs to be done after this. DEI doesn’t happen by checking a box and these individuals are often reprimanded or fired when they try to make the change they were hired to make.
Call to action for Hoosiers passionate about education 👇. If you didn't get to testify in Education committee this week, we still want to hear your stories. Read more:
We are honored to have been a part of this documentary that made this conversation we are having in Carmel front and center. Thank you for the support from our community as we continue to work towards an equitable future for all our students.

We couldn’t be more proud of the incredible students in this community! Congratulations on the 4th annual Black Leadership Summit which was initially created by @HSESchools students. This student-led event gets bigger and better every year!
Please don’t missing reading this powerful response on why HB1134 is harmful. Our community is fortunate to have wonderful educators such as the one who wrote this. Let’s make sure this incredible message gets shared and keep contacting your legislators to make your voice heard.
Ending voter suppression matters.
We must also ensure that people have something to vote for.
We must do the critical, consequential work of justice in between elections.
And we must not relegate my father’s legacy to the ballot box.
His legacy is about the World House.
Hello all! We have an ACTION ITEM! School Board meetings for CCS are back in person beginning next Monday, December 13th. Please clear your calendars to show support in equity minded clothing. Remember who we are and what we are supporting.
We did these interviews over a year ago. These problems continue to persist and hatred continues to fuel so many in Carmel. Please give it a watch again to remind yourselves what we are fighting for.
Thank you in advance. If you are looking for other Hamilton County organizations to give to this Tuesday, check out Racial Equity Community Network, Westfield Parents for Change, Noblesville Diversity Coalition, and Hamilton County Community Foundation
It is #givingTuesday! Are you looking to give to CARE?! We’re fueled by your support. CARE has been able to utilize funds to make systemic change through Carmel, launch an internship program, host community events, and begin the launch of a scholarship for students of color!
We want to grow the scholarship, expand CARE’s reach by hiring a lawyer to file our 501c3, foster more change in Hamilton County, and keep supporting our community!
