@ShaunLintern A key question Shaun is would projects like the massive National Maternity and Perinatal Audit uncover another Letby at work in 2026 and is it agile enough to react in a timely manner? NMPA collects data and reports >20 months later as per the latest report ๐๐๐๐๐
If you are interested in how to get the most out of clinical audit, this @HCUK_Clare conference in October provides expert insights and case studies. We are proud to chair the event and add our wisdom! https://t.co/m4ZEgWmVV3
We are proud to be working with @HQQ_UK on our 2026 survey. The quality of the responses has been amazing, giving us real insight into experiences of those involved in local and national audits. Sadly, a lot of feedback is negative with NACEL being brought to our attention...
@ShaunLintern have you seen the National Maternity and Perinatal Audit (NMPA) has just released its latest annual report for 2024 data. So if you want to know about care from when Rishi Sunak was PM it is really useful. The delays on national audits reporting results is a scandal
We are excited to be running this new accredited course to look at how to ensure clinical audits in maternity departments deliver! Ockenden and Kirkup have been very critical of audit and that needs to be addressed. All the details are available here: https://t.co/byD3JAp6DQ
Rather fortuitously we have become aware of this question used within a national clinical audit. In your opinion, is this fit for purpose? How will this question improve care for patients in the future? Is this best practice in clinical audit? @ShaunLintern@NHSEngland
Join us in Sept for this discounted fun course looking at how to teach clinical audit. Learners can gain a Level 2 teaching qualification, plus have access to loads of teaching tools and materials. More details on the flyer. Any questions, email us: [email protected]
Check this out @ShaunLintern In March the national network for clinical audit chair Vicky Patel shared this graphic predicting an exciting future. Within 5 weeks @NHSEngland had axed our 26 year old network that is independent of them with no consultation or explanation #madmoves
@KnackeredNurse9@hundredfamilies@ShaunLintern That is sad, shocking and worrying all at the same time. How is that even possible in the โnew eraโ of #PSIRF. Mind you I spoke to someone this week where 14 governance jobs in his Trust have either been deleted or merged. No meaningful consultation with staffโฆshockโฆ
@ShaunLintern No worries. I am sure you are very busy. There is a BIG story here and a layered one. The local clinical audit community is disgruntled and ready to speak out not least as many are losing their jobs or being downgraded. A neglected group for a good while, unlike national audits
@hundredfamilies@ShaunLintern That is a very prudent comment Julian. In recent weeks NHS England disbanded the national network set up by local staff in 2000 with zero consultation and weak reasoning. At national meetings we are all muted and chat is turned off, with no minutes made. Open and transparent ๐
@ShaunLintern We have read the full article and it pulls no punches! As per the quote, NHSE know the issues with NCAs. Aside from Shaun's report, the NCA burden remains chronic, many national audits are not audits as per @HQIPs guidance and there are significant questions over value for money
๐จ EXC: NHS England has suppressed the work of investigators carrying out dozens of national clinical audits. NHSE has stopped investigators alerting media, watered down recommendations and limited the way their reports are written, published and used: https://t.co/X5OaIzsciA
Join us and @HQQ_UK on 21 Sept as we look into the good, the bad and the ugly of national clinical audits. We will share extensive feedback from our ground breaking survey. The suggestions on improving NCAs are intelligent and extensive. FREE event, joining details on the poster.
LAST CHANCE SALOON: if you are interested in clinical audit and QI join us for our FREE half-day event tomorrow (23 July). We will be sharing results of our ground-breaking survey with @HQQ_UK and looking at how CA staff can add value. Easy to sign up via: https://t.co/eBSDy4oMBi
Sad to announce that NQICAN, the national network that supported clinical audit staff for >25 years is no more. A baffling announcement has appeared on the NQICAN website from @NHSEngland In March the NQICAN chair was telling us how valued the group was! Car crash 'leadership'...
