🦃 The Thanksgiving long weekend could mean more travellers at airports across Canada.
Travellers should ensure to allow enough time for parking, check-in, baggage drop-off, security screening, and getting to the gate, to help ensure they make it in time for Thanksgiving dinner.

1/3 What does CATSA do?
Most travellers know CATSA for the security screening they go through before boarding their flight. But that’s only one part of our mandate.
2/3 Our responsibilities include screening checked baggage, screening non-passengers like airport workers and flight crew, and the Restricted Area Identity Card (RAIC): the management of the system that uses iris and fingerprint biometric identifiers to allow authorized non-passengers access to the restricted areas of airports.
2/2 Collaboration across the aviation ecosystem supports new screening technologies, secure data sharing, cybersecurity alignment and improved coordination across the sector.

Twenty-five years after the September 11 attacks, we remember the victims, their families, and everyone whose life was forever changed.
In the hours that followed, communities across Canada welcomed thousands of diverted travellers. Thank you to airport workers, first responders, volunteers and everyone who stepped up with remarkable solidarity.
Twenty-five years ago, the tragedy of September 11, 2001, reshaped aviation security and led to CATSA’s creation.
Today, we remember the lives lost, honour the people who stepped forward in the face of tragedy, and reflect on the responsibility entrusted to CATSA to help protect Canada's air transportation system.

On #OfficialLanguagesDay, CATSA recognizes the importance of Canada's linguistic duality and our commitment to providing service in both official languages.
In 2025-26, 96.4% of surveyed passengers indicated they were served in the official language of their choice.

@JBPVFM Certain powders and granular materials may require additional screening, and in some cases, the items may not be permitted. If you are transporting cremated remains, we encourage you to consider alternative transportation methods, such as air cargo.
