CDC to media- “we removed the arbitrary thresholds in the updated guidelines, so doctors can prescribe what they want.” Listen to this clip to hear what’s actually happening. This was in NC yesterday. #stigma#pain

4) when I picked them up both were the same dose just a 10 day supply. Oh & she made me pee in front of the nurse but not b4 I was patted down & then told 2 lift my shirts & lower my pants like some criminal being arrested for a violent crime 😤🤬 I felt so F'n degraded.
1) I forgot 2 update about going 2 Quick Care for a bridge Rx. So, it wasn't entirely horrible. The gate keeper aka the sign in person was mean & degrading. She asked why I was there... uhg! Here we go! So, I explained the situation & she was like 😱 you expect help w/WHAT?..
This is misinfo. @HealthyFla llicit fentanyl poisonings have caused a steady rise in deaths since 2013. Many patients have been harmed by under-treatment, stemming from the assumption that rx opioids cause addiction. @CDCInjury
From @WSJopinion: We are beginning to learn from our mistakes in the opioid crisis and take steps toward a brighter future. Now isn’t the time for the CDC to relax its opioid recommendations, writes Kenneth Scheppke. https://t.co/N7vxKwl7wp
@WSJ@WSJopinion The science is clear.
Opioid prohibition crusade is a fatal public health disaster.
“Over past decade, green line (prescription opioids) declined by +50%, RX opioid deaths remained flat-total (illicit) overdose deaths continued increasing “exponentially.”

@ChadDKollas@HealthyFla@CDCgov@WSJ@CDCGapMisapp@CDCInjury Many people start using illicit opioids after they were prescribed opioids.
If you read the piece, instead of just emoting on Twitter, you’d see that 80% of heroine users started with prescription opioids.
Doctors and Big Pharms stated this problem. Maybe you should fix it.
@HealthyFla@CDCgov@WSJ Dr. Scheppke's full response (performance politics) contains medical DISINFORMATION about the driving force behind opioid overdose deaths (which are clearly driven by illicit fentalogues, not prescription opioids). REPORTED!
Awful look for @HealthyFla@CDCGapMisapp@CDCInjury
@aboutKP@KPMemberService@KFF We’re aware you’re force-tapering pts due to what you told reporters was a ⬇️ supply issue from a recent settlement agreement with distributors. CDC should be in touch to clarify as this goes against guidance from @CDCInjury. https://t.co/Splg8AZ74r

@serinamatteson@ibdgirl76 What state, if you do w mind me asking? Also, would you be willing to give some details so we can work on the source of this misapplication?
@annemarie1219@RachaelHorning @US_Muckraker @maiasz@KHNews@BrettKelman@CDCGapMisapp Yes, as is it against the guideline to make rigid policies or laws. Kaiser is 'mandating' this across all of their pain patients. I've no idea how many that may be but they hav 12.6 M members.
@aboutKP seems to be using the supply chain limits as an excuse to force pts’ doses ⬇️ en masse. This directly contradicts the cdc clinical practice guideline. @CDCInjury please make contact with Kaiser to educate them on the dangers of forced reductions!
@StefanKertesz@CDCGapMisapp@CDCInjury@aboutKP Further to this, since it is a mandate, there is zero flexibility. I need to find another health care provider asap or I'll cease to be able to function well, and it will put my heart health at risk. How can HCP simply not care?
@NancyGinMD @cmgrant we’re putting execs on notice that the updated guidelines are being misapplied by @aboutKP in the form of force-tapering to arbitrary thresholds.
We’ll pass this on to the @CDCInjury!Let us know if there are any changes to this situation! @aboutKP is on notice as of Nov. 14, 2022, to correct-course using the updated CDC clinical practice guideline, which emphasizes patient-centered care and warns against forced tapering.

@StefanKertesz@CDCGapMisapp@CDCInjury@aboutKP It is. I've read them front to back. They state many times & in many ways there should be no inflexible policies nor misapplication of their intent. Kaiser practically jumped on doing exactly that. They serve 12.6 million members. There are going to be big problems due to this.
