A new milestone in India’s journey towards building advanced, homegrown telecom capabilities.

The Department of Telecommunications (@DoT_India) and the Centre for Development of Telematics (@CDOT_India) have entered into an agreement to set up an End-to-End Optical Network Testbed at C-DOT.

With support from the DoT, this facility will provide a platform to evaluate and validate indigenous optical communication components, modules and systems. It will help researchers and industry accelerate innovation, improve product readiness and strengthen the domestic telecom supply chain.

The initiative reflects Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri @narendramodi Ji’s vision of #AtmanirbharBharat and marks another step towards developing globally competitive, next-generation communication infrastructure in India.

As wireless networks evolve, the conversation around safety must evolve with them.

At the #BRICS Working Group for Cooperation in ICTs meeting, I shared an update on the #BIFN Study Group on EMF Exposure , chaired by #India, with #Russia as Vice-Chair.

With 5G-Advanced, Wi-Fi 7, #satellite communications, Non-Terrestrial Networks and #6G reshaping the communications landscape, cooperation on RF-EMF exposure , #compliance and public confidence is becoming increasingly important.

The Study Group has now begun its work and member countries contributing towards a common Work Plan.

Our #focus is on moving beyond sharing experiences - towards harmonised approaches , joint research , stronger technical capacity and practical outcomes that can support safe, sustainable and future-ready wireless infrastructure across #BRICS .

Technology is moving fast. Our cooperation must move with it.
