Centre For Legal Support and Inmate Rehabilitation (CELSIR)
We advocate for the effective rehabilitation and reintegration of justice impacted persons.
Real change for justice-impacted women doesn’t happen in silos.
It takes partners, advocates and people willing to show up, listen and build solutions together.
That’s why we brought stakeholders together at Ruby House to discuss, align and explore what it will take to move re-entry forward, one partnership, one training and one commitment at a time.
From service referrals and economic opportunities to pro-bono support,………
66 years of Nigeria 🇳🇬
Still building. Still growing. Still becoming.
May this new month bring fresh hope and opportunities as we each play our part in building a better Nigeria.
Happy Independence Day & Happy New Month from CELSIR. 🇳🇬

We give them a home, not a sentence. We meet their basic needs. We help them heal from what they've been through.
And we walk with them as they grow into the future they want.

Halfway Home is not another prison.
For women coming home after incarceration, "starting over" often means starting with nothing, no safe place, no support, no soft landing.
That's where Ruby House comes in.
Real change starts when everyone shows up.
Last week, we brought stakeholders together at Ruby House for an important conversation. But first, they got a closer look at the space with a brief tour of Ruby House and what it is being built to make possible.
We also announced a three-month vocational training programme in partnership with RoLAC, with clear criteria to help ensure the opportunity reaches the women who need it most.
From healthcare, legal aid and therapy to service referrals and economic opportunities, the conversation moved from identifying the gaps to making practical commitments.
We asked ourselves several questions, but one stood out: What does re-entry really look like for women in Nigeria? And are we doing enough to support them?
We looked honestly at where we are, the gaps that still exist, and what needs to happen beyond simply opening the door.
CELSIR’s Ruby House Stakeholder Engagement was a reminder of why second chances matter.
We listened, and heard beneficiaries speak about the hope and support CELSIR has provided.
Grateful to every stakeholder who showed up and reaffirmed their support.

As we joined several justice-sector stakeholders in Lagos to discuss plea bargaining, the conversation went beyond simply understanding how the process works.
We looked at the challenges, the limitations, the concerns around fairness, the place of victims, and what it could mean for rehabilitation and reintegration.
Peace is not just about ending conflict.
It is also in the everyday choices we make.
To listen before judging. To make room for forgiveness, healing and second chances.
This International Day of Peace, let’s remember that we all have a part to play in building peace.
