Last week we had our first mentoring session for Pathways to a Successful College Career, CIANA’s college prep program funded by @NYCCEC. Students worked with mentors to guide them through the college application process. Looking forward to our next session tomorrow!

Last week was #NYCNonprofitWeek. Nonprofits do more than provide services; we respond to the biggest injustices affecting the most vulnerable in our communities. For CIANA, this means 20 years of combatting anti-immigrant xenophobia with personalized, holistic social services.

CIANA was founded in 2006 in response to bigotry and violence against Muslims after 9/11. The UN chose August 22 to commemorate Victims of Violence Based on Religion because the freedom to practice one’s faith is a core human right, and violating that right is never acceptable.
