The Minister of Local Government and Public Works, Daniel Garwe, has suspended Bulawayo Ward 1 Councillor Josiah Mutangi from office following his recent conviction on fraud charges.
Mutangi was convicted with his co-accused, Janet Zhou, of 13 counts of fraud after swindling local vendors by falsely promising legal vending bays.

A 64-year-old truck driver, Thapson Ndou, has been arrested for allegedly smuggling nearly two tonnes of dagga worth US$210,800 through Beitbridge Border Post. Police seized the haulage truck, registration number AGK 0535, and said investigations are underway to identify other suspects linked to the case.
