As a former sex crimes detective who has seen the absolute worst of humanity—images and videos involving the abuse of children, including infants—I can say this with certainty: there is no such thing as a “relatively modest” child porn collection. That phrase is as offensive as it is dangerous. This decision is a grotesque display of how twisted our priorities have become when it comes to protecting our most vulnerable. It isn’t just a failure of justice—it’s utter insanity. IMO.
