Comprehensive 15-Year Development Plan for the Bengaluru Metropolitan Region

Key issues discussed at the Advisory Committee meeting on the economic development of the Bengaluru Metropolitan Region, chaired by Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri @DKShivakumar at his Home Office ‘Krishna’ today:

• Roadmap for a $1 trillion Karnataka economy:
Karnataka has set an ambitious goal of becoming a $1 trillion economy by 2047, with a target of reaching $400–420 billion by 2037. In line with this vision, a comprehensive roadmap is being prepared for the Bengaluru Metropolitan Region, focusing on seamless mobility, housing and industrial development to support the region’s next phase of growth.

• Identifying land for an AI University:
Nine new integrated industrial townships are proposed across the BMR. Of the 13,500 acres required, 7,900 acres have already been acquired, while the acquisition of the remaining 5,600 acres is underway. The government has also announced the development of an ‘AI City’ on the lines of Singapore’s Punggol. Suitable land with adequate space to establish an AI University will be identified as part of this initiative.

• Integrated master plan for Bengaluru Urban district:
As decided at the previous meeting, the entire Bengaluru Urban district will be brought under the BWSSB (Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board) jurisdiction in a phased manner to ensure comprehensive development of drinking water and sewerage infrastructure. This will strengthen water distribution and sewerage management across the district. The entire road network of Bengaluru Urban district will also be mapped and a comprehensive development plan prepared. Steps will be taken to bring all areas of the district under the jurisdiction of urban local bodies.

• Expanding and strengthening mobility infrastructure:
A comprehensive mobility plan has been prepared to ensure seamless movement within Bengaluru and its peripheral areas. By 2037, an additional 312 km of Metro network is proposed to be developed. The meeting also discussed 72 km of additional suburban rail connectivity, a 210 km ring road connecting 10 major hubs, and the proposal to connect Phase 2 of the Peripheral Ring Road (PRR) with NICE Road. The meeting further discussed a 270 km Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) connecting the Bengaluru–Tumakuru, Bengaluru–Mysuru and Bengaluru–KGF corridors, as well as extending the proposed Mumbai–Bengaluru High-Speed Rail corridor up to Mysuru.

• Ensuring long-term water security:
The BMR is expected to require 3,600 MLD of water by 2037. A comprehensive plan is being developed to meet the region’s future drinking water and industrial water requirements. Directions were issued to prioritise measures over the next decade, including the reuse of treated water and filling and rejuvenation of lakes, to ensure sustainable water security for Bengaluru.

• Affordable housing for a growing Bengaluru:
Providing affordable housing for all is a key commitment of the government. A plan is being prepared for the construction of 6–6.5 lakh houses across the region. This will include dedicated housing facilities for 40,000–50,000 workers employed in industries, ensuring that Bengaluru’s growth is supported by adequate and affordable housing.

ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು ಮಹಾನಗರ ಪ್ರದೇಶ (BMRDA) ವ್ಯಾಪ್ತಿಯ ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿಗೆ ಮುಂದಿನ 15 ವರ್ಷಗಳ ಸಮಗ್ರ ಯೋಜನೆ

ಗೃಹ ಕಚೇರಿ 'ಕೃಷ್ಣಾ'ದಲ್ಲಿ ಇಂದು ಸನ್ಮಾನ್ಯ ಮುಖ್ಯಮಂತ್ರಿ ಶ್ರೀ @DKShivakumar ಅವರ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷತೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆದ ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು ಮಹಾನಗರ ಪ್ರದೇಶದ ಆರ್ಥಿಕ ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿ ಕುರಿತಾದ ಸಲಹಾ ಸಮಿತಿ ಸಭೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಚರ್ಚಿಸಲ��ದ ಪ್ರಮುಖ ಅಂಶಗಳು:

- ರಾಜ್ಯದ ಆರ್ಥಿಕತೆ 1 ಟ್ರಿಲಿಯನ್ ಡಾಲರ್ ತಲುಪುವ ಗುರಿ: 2047ರ ವೇಳೆಗೆ ರಾಜ್ಯದ ಆರ್ಥಿಕತೆ 1 ಟ್ರಿಲಿಯನ್ ಡಾಲರ್ ತಲುಪುವ ಗುರಿಯನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಲಾಗಿದೆ. 2037ರ ವೇಳೆಗೆ ಆರ್ಥಿಕತೆಯನ್ನು 400-420 ಬಿಲಿಯನ್ ಡಾಲರ್‌ಗೆ ಕೊಂಡೊಯ್ಯುವ ಯೋಜನೆ ರೂಪಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ. ಇದಕ್ಕೆ ಪೂರಕವಾಗಿ ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು ಮಹಾನಗರ ಪ್ರದೇಶ (ಬಿಎಂಆರ್) ವ್ಯಾಪ್ತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸುಗಮ ಸಂಚಾರ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥೆ, ವಸತಿ ಹಾಗೂ ಕೈಗಾರಿಕಾ ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿಗೆ ರೂಪುರೇಷೆಗಳನ್ನು ಸಿದ್ಧಪಡಿಸಲಾಗುತ್ತಿದೆ.

- ಎಐ ವಿಶ್ವವಿದ್ಯಾಲಯ ಸ್ಥಾಪಿಸಲು ಲಭ್ಯ ಸ್ಥಳಗಳ ಗುರುತಿಸುವಿಕೆ: ಬಿಎಂಆರ್ ವ್ಯಾಪ್ತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ 9 ಹೊಸ ಇಂಟಿಗ್ರೇಟೆಡ್ ಕೈಗಾರಿಕಾ ಟೌನ್‌ಶಿಪ್‌ಗಳನ್ನು ರೂಪಿಸಬೇಕಾಗಿದೆ. ಇದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ 7,900 ಎಕರೆ ಜಾಗವನ್ನು ಈಗಾಗಲೇ ಸ್ವಾಧೀನಪಡಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲಾಗಿದ್ದು, ಉಳಿದ 5,600 ಎಕರೆ ಜಾಗದ ಸ್ವಾಧೀನ ಪ್ರಕ್ರಿಯೆ ಚಾಲನೆಯಲ್ಲಿದೆ. ನಮ್ಮ ಸರ್ಕಾರವು ಈಗಾಗಲೇ 'ಎಐ ಸಿಟಿ' ನಿರ್ಮಿಸುವ ಘೋಷಣೆ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದು, ಸಿಂಗಾಪುರದ 'ಪುಂಗೋಲ್' ಮಾದರಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಇದನ್ನು ನಿರ್ಮಿಸಬೇಕಾಗಿದೆ. ಎಐ ವಿಶ್ವವಿದ್ಯಾಲಯ ಸ್ಥಾಪಿಸಲು ವಿಶಾಲ ಜಾಗದ ಅಗತ್ಯವಿದ್ದು, ಲಭ್ಯ ಸ್ಥಳಗಳನ್ನು ಗುರುತಿಸುವ ಕಾರ್ಯ ನಡೆಯಬೇಕಿದೆ.

- ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣ ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು ನಗರ ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಯ ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿಗೆ ಮಾಸ್ಟರ್ ಪ್ಲ್ಯಾನ್: ಹಿಂದಿನ ಸಭೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ತೀರ್ಮಾನಿಸಿದಂತೆ, ಭವಿಷ್ಯದ ಅಗತ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ಗಮನದಲ್ಲಿಟ್ಟುಕೊಂಡು ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣ ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು ನಗರ ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಯನ್ನು BWSSB (ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು ಜಲಮಂಡಳಿ) ವ್ಯಾಪ್ತಿಯಡಿ ಸೇರ್ಪಡೆಗೊಳಿಸಿ, ಕುಡಿಯುವ ನೀರು ಮತ್ತು ಒಳಚರಂಡಿ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥೆಯನ್ನು ಹಂತ ಹಂತವಾಗಿ ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿಪಡಿಸಲು ಉದ್ದೇಶಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ. ಆ ಮೂಲಕ ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಯಾದ್ಯಂತ ನೀರು ವಿತರಣಾ ಸಾಮರ್ಥ್ಯ ಹಾಗೂ ಒಳಚರಂಡಿ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥೆಯನ್ನು ಸಮರ್ಪಕವಾಗಿ ನಿರ್ವಹಿಸಲು ಸಾಧ್ಯವಾಗುವುದು. ಇದರೊಂದಿಗೆ ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಯ ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣ ರಸ್ತೆ ಜಾಲವನ್ನು ಗುರುತಿಸಿ, ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿಗೆ ಯೋಜನೆ ರೂಪಿಸಲು ಕ್ರಮ ಕೈಗೊಳ್ಳಲಾಗುವುದು. ಇದಕ್ಕೆ ಪೂರಕವಾಗಿ ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು ನಗರ ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಯ ಎಲ್ಲ ಪ್ರದೇಶಗಳನ್ನು ನಗರ ಸ್ಥಳೀಯ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಗಳ ವ್ಯಾಪ್ತಿಗೆ ತರಲಾಗುವುದು.

- ಸುಗಮ ಸಂಚಾರ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥೆ: ಬೆಂಗಳೂ��ು ನಗರ ಹಾಗೂ ಹೊರವಲಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಸುಗಮ ಸಂಚಾರವನ್ನು ಖಾತ್ರಿಪಡಿಸಲು ಸಂಚಾರ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥೆಯ ವಿಸ್ತೃತ ಯೋಜನೆ ಸಿದ್ಧಪಡಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ. 2037ರ ವೇಳೆಗೆ ಹೆಚ್ಚುವರಿಯಾಗಿ 312 ಕಿ.ಮೀ. ಮೆಟ್ರೋ ಮಾರ್ಗ ವಿಸ್ತರಿಸಲು ಉದ್ದೇಶಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ. 72 ಕಿ.ಮೀ. ಹೆಚ್ಚುವರಿ ಸಬ್ ಅರ್ಬನ್ ರೈಲು ಸಂಪರ್ಕ ಯೋಜನೆ, 10 ಹಬ್‌ಗಳನ್ನು ಸಂಪರ್ಕಿಸುವ 210 ಕಿ.ಮೀ. ವರ್ತುಲ ರಸ್ತೆ ನಿರ್ಮಾಣ ಹಾಗೂ ಪಿ.ಆರ್.ಆರ್ ಹಂತ-2 ನ್ನು ನೈಸ್ ರಸ್ತೆಯೊಂದಿಗೆ ಜೋಡಿಸುವ ಪ್ರಸ್ತಾವನೆ ಕುರಿತು ಚರ್ಚಿಸಲಾಯಿತು.

- ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು-ತುಮಕೂರು, ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು-ಮೈಸೂರು ಮತ್ತು ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು-ಕೆ.ಜಿ.ಎಫ್ - ಈ ಮೂರು ಕಾರಿಡಾರ್‌ಗಳನ್ನು ಸಂಪರ್ಕಿಸುವ 270 ಕಿ.ಮೀ. ವ್ಯಾಪ್ತಿಯ ಆರ್.ಆರ್.ಟಿ.ಎಸ್ (RRTS) ಮಾರ್ಗ ನಿರ್ಮಾಣ ಹಾಗೂ ಪ್ರಸ್ತಾವಿತ ಮುಂಬೈ-ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು ಹೈಸ್ಪೀಡ್ ರೈಲನ್ನು ಮೈಸೂರುವರೆಗೆ ವಿಸ್ತರಿಸುವ ಬಗ್ಗೆಯೂ ಸಭೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಚರ್ಚೆ ನಡೆ���ಲಾಯಿತು.

- ನೀರಿನ ಸೌಲಭ್ಯ: ಬಿಎಂಆರ್ ವ್ಯಾಪ್ತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ 2037ರ ವೇಳೆಗೆ 3,600 ಎಂ.ಎಲ್.ಡಿ ನೀರಿನ ಅಗತ್ಯವಿದೆ. ಕುಡಿಯಲು ಹಾಗೂ ಕೈಗಾರಿಕೆಗಳಿಗೆ ಅಗತ್ಯವಾದ ನೀರನ್ನು ಒದಗಿಸುವ ನಿಟ್ಟಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಯೋಜನೆ ರೂಪಿಸುವ ಕುರಿತು ಚರ್ಚಿಸಲಾಯಿತು. ಮುಂದಿನ 10 ವರ್ಷಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ನಗರದ ಕುಡಿಯುವ ಹಾಗೂ ಕೈಗಾರಿಕಾ ಅಗತ್ಯತೆಗಳನ್ನು ಗಮನಿಸಿ, ಸಂಸ್ಕರಿಸಿದ ನೀರಿನ ಮರುಬಳಕೆ, ಕೆರೆಗಳನ್ನು ತುಂಬಿಸುವುದು ಸೇರಿದಂತೆ ಹಲವು ಯೋಜನೆಗಳಿಗೆ ಆದ್ಯತೆ ನೀಡುವಂತೆ ಸೂಚನೆ ನೀಡಲಾಗಿದೆ.

- ವಸತಿ ಸೌಲಭ್ಯ: ಪ್���ತಿಯೊಬ್ಬರಿಗೂ ಕೈಗೆಟಕುವ ದರದಲ್ಲಿ ವಸತಿ ಸೌಲಭ್ಯವನ್ನು ಕಲ್ಪಿಸುವುದು ನಮ್ಮ ಸರ್ಕಾರದ ಬದ್ಧತೆಯಾಗಿದೆ. ಈ ನಿಟ್ಟಿನಲ್ಲಿ 6 ರಿಂದ 6.5 ಲಕ್ಷ ಮನೆಗಳ ನಿರ್ಮಾಣಕ್ಕೆ ಯೋಜನೆ ರೂಪಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ. ಇದರಲ್ಲಿ ��ೈಗಾರಿಕೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಕೆಲಸ ಮಾಡುವ 40-50 ಸಾವಿರ ಕಾರ್ಮಿಕರಿಗೆ ವಿಶೇಷವಾಗಿ ವಸತಿ ಸೌಲಭ್ಯ ಕಲ್ಪಿಸಲಾಗುವುದು.

ಸಭೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಉಪಸ್ಥಿತರಿದ್ದ ಸಚಿವರು ಹಾಗೂ ಕೃಷಿ, ಜವಳ���, ಸಕ್ಕರೆ, ತೋಟಗಾರಿಕೆ, ಶಾಲಾ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ ಮತ್ತು ಸಾಕ್ಷರತೆ, ಪಶುಸಂಗೋಪನೆ, ಗಣಿ ಮತ್ತು ಭೂವಿಜ್ಞಾನ, ಸಣ್ಣ ಕೈಗಾರಿಕೆ, ವಾಣಿಜ್ಯ ಮತ್ತು ಕೈಗಾರಿಕೆ, ಅರಣ್ಯ, ಪರಿಸರ ಮತ್ತು ಜೀವಿಶಾಸ್ತ್ರ ಇಲಾಖೆಗಳ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳಿಂದ ಮಾಹಿತಿ ಪಡೆದ ಮುಖ್ಯಮಂತ್ರಿಗಳು, ಮುಂದಿನ ಕಾರ್ಯಗಳ ಕುರಿತು ಅಗತ್ಯ ಸೂಚನೆಗಳನ್ನು ನೀಡಿದರು.

A proud moment for Karnataka!

India’s Defence Forces will be part of Mysuru Dasara 2026, adding a special sense of pride, patriotism and grandeur to this year’s celebrations.

The iconic Surya Kiran Aerobatic Team of the Indian Air Force will enthral the people of Mysuru with spectacular aerial displays from October 18 to 20, while tableaux representing all three wings of our Defence Forces will showcase their valour, service and spirit.

Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri D.K. Shivakumar had requested Hon’ble Defence Minister Shri Rajnath Singh avaru for the participation of our Defence Forces in Mysuru Dasara. The Government of Karnataka sincerely thanks the Hon’ble Defence Minister for kindly obliging and extending his support in making this possible.

Mysuru Dasara celebrates the spirit of Karnataka and belongs to its people. This year, we look forward to making the festivities more vibrant, inclusive and memorable than ever.

ರಾಜ್ಯದ ಕ್ರೀಡಾ ಪ್ರತಿಭೆಗಳನ್ನು ಪ್ರೋತ್ಸಾಹಿಸಲು ಹಾಗೂ ಅವರ ಭವಿಷ್ಯವನ್ನು ಭದ್ರಪಡಿಸುವ ನಿಟ್ಟಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಸರ್ಕಾರ ಮಹತ್ವದ ಹೆಜ್ಜೆ ಇಟ್ಟಿದೆ. ಸಿವಿಲ್ ಸೇವೆಗಳ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ನೇರ ನೇಮಕಾತಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಕ್ರೀಡಾ ಸಾಧಕರಿಗೆ ಶೇ. 2ರಷ್ಟು ಮೀಸಲಾತಿ ಕಲ್ಪಿಸಿ ಅಧಿಕೃತ ಅಧಿಸೂಚನೆ ಹೊರಡಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ. ಕ್ರೀಡಾಪಟುಗಳ ಸಾಧನೆಗೆ ಬೆನ್ನೆಲುಬಾಗಿ ನಿಲ್ಲಲು ಮತ್ತು ಅವರ ಭವ್ಯ ಭವಿಷ್ಯವನ್ನು ರೂಪಿಸಲು ಸರ್ಕಾರ ಸದಾ ಬದ್ಧವಾಗಿದೆ.

ಅತ್ಯುತ್ತಮ‌‌ ಚಿತ್ರಗಳ‌ ಮೂಲಕ ಕನ್ನಡ‌ ಚಲನಚಿತ್ರರಂಗಕ್ಕೆ ಹೊಸ ಆಯಾಮ‌ ನೀಡಿದ ಸಿಂಗೀತಂ ಶ್ರೀನಿವಾಸ್ ಅವರು, ಡಾ. ರಾಜಕುಮಾರ್ ಅಭಿನಯದ, 'ಹಾಲುಜೇನು', 'ಚಲಿಸುವ ಮೋಡಗಳು', 'ಶ್ರಾವಣ ಬಂತು' ಮುಂತಾದ ಸದಭಿರುಚಿಯ ಹಿಟ್ ಚಿತ್ರಗಳನ್ನು ನಿರ್ದೇಶಿಸಿದ್ದರು.

ಸಿಂಗೀತಂ ಅವರ 'ಪುಷ್ಪಕ ವಿಮಾನ' ಮೂಕಿ ಚಿತ್ರ ಭಾರತೀಯ ಚಿತ್ರರಂಗದ ��ೈಲಿಗಲ್ಲು. ಅವರ ಅನನ್ಯ ಪ್ರತಿಭೆಗೆ ಸಾಕ್ಷಿ. ಕನ್ನಡ ಚಿತ್ರರಂಗದ ಜೊತೆ ಒಡನಾಟ ಇಟ್ಟುಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದ ಸಿಂಗೀತಂ, ತಮ್ಮ ಕೊನೆಯುಸಿರು ಇರುವ ತನಕ‌ ಸಿನಿಮಾ ಧ್ಯಾನ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು.

Our athletes have secured 85 medals, including 21 Gold, 27 Silver and 37 Bronze, finishing fourth overall. The performance reflects the growing strength and depth of Indian sport across disciplines, with athletes from Karnataka also making a proud contribution to India’s medal tally.

From a DYES Sports Hostel in Bengaluru to Asian Games Gold!

Heartiest congratulations to Karnataka’s Mohith H.S., goalkeeper of the Indian men’s hockey team, on winning Gold at the 2026 Asian Games.

A proud moment to see a talent nurtured at the Department of Youth Empowerment and Sports (DYES) Hostel, Bengaluru, and trained by DYES coach Shri Vijay Krishna, reach the highest level of the sport. His journey is an inspiration to many young athletes across Karnataka.
