Meet the team responsible for producing the majority of the treated railroad crossties that, quite literally, support the safe and efficient operation of our network. The dedication to quality and excellence shown by these railroaders helps make the movement of freight across North America possible every day.
In September, we set new monthly and third quarter records for moving grain on the CPKC network in Canada and the United States.
The new September monthly record marked the second straight monthly grain record to begin the 2026-2027 crop year in Canada.
These new records reflect the collective effort of CPKC railroaders, our customers and those across the grain supply chain.

Every year, National Day for Truth and Reconciliation offers us an opportunity to reflect on the legacy residential schools have had in Canada.
We proudly support the Orange Shirt Society, and our #EveryChildMatters locomotive, with its distinctive orange paint and the @OrangeShirtSoc logo continues to operate across our network, raising awareness and inspiring discussion. Our Training Design and Development team created a 3D model of this locomotive to give railroaders another way to reflect on this important day.
Learn more about the enduring impacts of residential schools through the @OrangeShirtSoc website and the National Centre for Truth and Reconciliation. Together, we can make a difference.

Every summer and fall, local terminals across our network host Family Day appreciation events where our teams come together to celebrate our railroaders and the families who support them.
This month, our Calgary railroaders spent the day at Heritage Park while in Kansas City our railroaders enjoyed Worlds of Fun. Fun, food, family and fellowship. That is what Family Day events are all about.
Thank you to all who joined us and to the volunteers who help make our family days happen.

Tracks, and the land around them are private railway property.
Stay 50 feet/15 metres away from the tracks and get home safe.

Your deliveries matter, but getting home safely matters most.
✅Obey all road signs
✅ Look both ways
✅ If a train is approaching, STOP
✅ Never try to beat a train
✅ If your vehicle gets stuck on the tracks, leave it immediately and call 911
Drive safely. Stay alert.

Look. Listen. Live.
Always expect a train in either direction.

Today, President & CEO Keith Creel appeared at the Morgan Stanley 14th Annual Laguna Conference, where he spoke about how CPKC continues to build momentum and deliver growth despite continuing macroeconomic and North American trade challenges. He also praised the Canadian government’s tax reform proposal geared toward strengthening investment across the country. Prime Minister Carney’s recently announced Productivity Mega Deduction is needed, Creel said. “It is going to take Canada from being a laggard in investment to a leader – a world leader. It’s going to attract capital.”
