In my book titled "Uganda: 7 - Key Transformation Idea" I gave an insight about ELECTRICITY.

The difference between having electricity supply and not having it, is comparable to literacy........

Life in the villages without electricity is a nightmare indeed.
Whenever I depart from a village that is permanently in the dark, I ask myself: what options do these people have, besides drinking alcohol (again in semi-darkness)? To have one's life come to a virtual standstill as soon as the sun sets is simply a stone age experience. And social and economic transformation doesn't occur in that era of human evolution.

Activities like hair salons, music sales points, sale of locally made fruit juices, market stalls selling vegetables (remain open till late), the entertainment sector (discos/music productions and concerts etc.) is boosted, and a lot more. All these thrive with connectivity to the grid. Artisans like carpenters, welders and, of course, the electricians themselves, depend almost entirely on availability of electricity supply.......

My hope is that policy makers find time to read this book.

"King on the Throne" is my first book, published 2009. As the subtitle implies, it's "The Story of the Retoration of the Kingdom of Buganda".

Today, we commemorate the 64th Independence anniversary of Uganda. 🇺🇬
The ideals of Independence, and those who struggled for it, need to be celebrated.

Independent Uganda has had a fair share of challenges characterised by violence, human rights abuses, poor service delivery, weak public infrastructure, and poverty.

We need to draw lessons from those challenges and work for the Rule of Law, leading to a future that will provide goods and services to all, and bring joy and happiness to the average Ugandan.

Tujaguzza olunaku lwa Bulungibwansi ne Gavumenti ez’Ebitundu mu Buganda, mu Ggombolola Ssaabawaali Gombe.

Bajjajjaffe baagunjawo obwami okutereeza n’okunyweza obukulembeze bwa Buganda. Enkola eno yafuula Buganda okuba n’obukulembeze obulambulukufu era n’esobozesa Obwakabaka okugaziwa okuva ku masaza asatu (3); Kyaddondo, Busiro ne Mawokota okutuuka e Buddu, Buvuma n’ebitundu ebirala.

Newankubadde nga twayita mu nkyukakyuka, omuli n'okuggyawo Obwakabaka, enkola y’obukulembeze n’obuweereza eri abantu ekyagenda mu maaso.

Bulungibwansi kitegeeza okubeera mu nsi eyeyagaza era ennungi. Nolwekyo, nkuutira abaami ba Kabaka okukubiriza abantu okulima emmwanyi n’ebitooke, okulunda Ente ya Kabaka, okwewala mukenenya, n’okutumbula omutindo gw’amaka. Amaka gabeere malamu, nga galina emmere emala, enfuna n’obuyonjo.
