With COP16 happening right now in Colombia, it's a great time to draw attention to a new guidance report that's just been published by IUCN. The guidance was designed to ensure inland waters are part of the global conversation about conservation needs. Available from IUCN.
The CRI has joined with over 100 organizations and individuals to call on governments at #COP16Colombia to urgently prioritise action on inland waters and wetlands. #makeeveryriverahealthyriver
COP16 is on now, and many groups are working to bring conversations about freshwater to the forefront of the biodiversity discussion. Today at 5pm Eastern, IUCN will be livestreaming a panel discussion about Indigenous and Traditional Peoples as water custodians. Link in image.

On this day, we pause to reflect on the painful history of residential schools, honour survivors and their families, and listen to their stories so we might better understand the inter-generational impacts that the residential school system has had on Indigenous Peoples.
