A Zigbee Virtual Device (ZVD) enables Bluetooth Low Energy devices like smartphones to interact natively with a Zigbee mesh through software implementation of the Zigbee stack, eliminating the need for a physical gateway.

The assumptions that hold up well in a single-family home start to break down fast in MDUs, hotels, offices, campuses, and utilities, where coverage, interference, device density, lifecycle management, and global scale introduce an entirely different set of demands.
