In modernising, expanding and renewing it's transport fleet the University has very recently purchased a 67 seater bus. The nicely branded bus will be critical in moving bigger numbers of students as demanded in academic tours and general University operations. The bus is christened the Monks, the name of our very successful Rugby team.

On Thursday, June 18 we hosted the President and Vice-President of Bochum University of Applied Sciences, Germany, Prof. Andres Wytzisk-Arens and Prof. Jorg Frochte. The two institutions are seeking a closer collaboration and exchange aimed at mutual benefit. The team were also met by Archbishop Anthony Muheria, the University Board of Trustees Chair and Archbishop of Nyeri, Kenya who was in campus for a different engagement.

The Biblical theology International colloquium under the theme 'Rabbinic and African Biblical Hermeneutics' came to a close on Wednesday, June 10, 2026. Our Vice Chancellor and Rector, Very Rev. Prof. Stephen Mbugua Ngari addressed the attendees drawn from all over Africa and the world. The VC urged for continued closer collaboration between believers of various persuasions. Indeed we did not just have African and European Theologians in attendance but also real Rabbi's in attendance as we conferred on how the scriptures have been interpreted! On Friday, June 5, 2025 the University held the annual Cardinal Otunga Golf tournament at Sigona Golf Club. The tournament attended by hundreds of golfers was teed off by Rt. Rev. Peter Kimani, the Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Embu. Proceeds from the tournament will support the fundraising for scholarships for our needy students.

On Thursday, May 4, our Faculty of Law held a talk on the theme Data Driven Pathways for People Centered Justice in Kenya. The seminar was addressed by Lady Justice Christine Ochieng June, Presiding Judge, Environment and Land Court, Milimani and Adv. Anyango Janet, the Deputy Director, FIDA-Kenya. The seminar is a precursor to a conference by the Kenyan Judiciary on the Alternative Justice System (AJS) to be held at the University of Embu from 16-19 June, 2026.

On Wednesday June 3, 2026 we had the pleasure of hosting students from Christ College, Irinjalakuda, Kerala, India a university established by the Carmelites of Mary Immaculate (CMI) which is in collaboration with CUEA. The students were led by Fr. Anto Emmatty, CMI an administrator with the college and Fr. Justin Ukken, CMI a local missionary. On Monday May 25, 2026 the University had the pleasure to host the International Missing Children's Day commemoration. The event was jointly hosted between the University's Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences and the State Department for Children Services. The event was graced by young children, the PS Children Services, CPA Carren Achieng Ageng'o, the Cabinet Secretary for Gender, Culture, the Arts, and Heritage, Hon. Hanna Wendot Cheptumo and other partners. Our Alumni Executive Committee held their meeting on Saturday, 9th May here at the Main Campus. Before the meeting, they were privileged to consult with the Vice-Chancellor, Very Rev. Prof. Stephen Mbugua Ngari who appraised them on the strides that the management had made in turning around the University. He especially informed them that most University debts had been cleared and the University was now at the growth phase of the Strategic Plan 2018-2030. This will include the establishment of a College of Health Sciences with the respective building and a School of Business building. Today Wednesday, May, 6th 2026 The Catholic University of Eastern Africa (CUEA) held a student orientation for the May intake. Hundreds of students joining various programs with some accompanied by their parents attended the orientation which was addressed by various administrators including the University Vice-Chancellor, Very Rev. Prof. Stephen Mbugua Ngari. The students were encouraged to uphold their freedom at the University level responsibly and to be consecrated in the truth.
The CUEA Vice Chancellor, Very Rev. Prof. Stephen Mbugua, received the 100 Transformative African Leaders Award on Value-Based, Innovative and Collaborative Education. Other award recipients at the Leadership Conference were several Principal Secretaries and Corporate Executives from Africa. The African Prestige 100 Honoris Awards & ELIAD Global Leadership Conference 2026 took place on Saturday, 25th April 2026 at Safari Park Hotel.
The Catholic University of Eastern Africa (CUEA) hosted youth's and children from Charity Father's, Rimpa, Ongata Rongai, Kajiado County, Kenya. They had a tour of our facilities, attended our Community Mass and were spoken to by members of our senior administration including the VC, Very Rev. Prof. Stephen Mbugua and the Student Recruitment team. We frequently host students and other organized groups for campus visits
On Monday, 24th April 2026, we had the honor of hosting Fr. Friedrich Bechina, FSO, and Mr. Peter Woods (Australia), accompanied by Sr. Joyce Mboya, Fr. Ronald Reagan, and Mr. Nicholas Muasya, KCCB National Education Secretary.
The delegation held a consultative meeting with our top management to explore future collaborations under the Spiritus Program, a key initiative focused on strengthening education and institutional partnerships.
In parallel, the Spiritus Program is currently convening a regional seminar bringing together education representatives from across East Africa—fostering dialogue, shared learning, and strategic engagement for the future of education in the region.

The University has in this week (April 7-10) hosted the 12th Edition of the Catholic Private Education Institution's Association conference. The Conference was opened on Tuesday by Rt. Rev. Henry Juma Odonya, Bishop of Kitale Catholic Diocese. A representative of the CS for Education also addressed the meeting.
