#GrandIncident Update 5/15 7:30 AM: Firefighters’ work overnight increased containment to 85%.

Crews remain on scene today conducting hotspot extinguishment and continuing efforts to strengthen containment lines.

#GrandIncident Update 7 PM: The updated acreage is 36 acres with containment now at 75%.

Grand Avenue opened to all traffic at 7 PM.

Crews continue to improve containment lines and will remain on scene overnight.

#GrandIncident Update 11:25 am: A Chino Valley Fire investigator determined the cause of the fire was a single-vehicle rollover traffic collision that caught the brush on fire.

#GrandIncident Fire is 50% contained. FF worked through the night on extinguishing hot spots and perimeter control.  Efforts continue today on extinguishment and further perimeter control.  Grand Ave from Grand Ave Park to the County line remains closed. No structures threatened.

#GrandIncident All evacuation orders and warning have been lifted.

Grand Avenue between Grand Avenue Park and the city limit line will remain closed until further notice. All road closures in evacuated areas have been lifted.

Chino Valley Fire District responded to a vegetation fire just before 7 p.m. on Grand Avenue in Chino Hills near Grand Avenue Park. Please stay out of the area and avoid unnecessary travel nearby. Updates will be provided as they become available.

Final Update 10:45 PM: The gas leak has been stopped. Crews will remain on scene to continue the overhaul and investigation. Residents will be allowed back into the unaffected homes at approximately 11:00 pm.

Update 10:30 PM: Chino Valley Fire remains on scene while the Gas company works to secure a gas line.

Chino Valley Fire responded at 3:44 PM to an apparent explosion on the 4200 block of Sierra Vista Dr. One home has major damage; nearby homes minor damage.
4 people were transported, 4 others self-transported. 16 homes were temporarily evacuated.

Chino Valley Fire Administrative Offices will be closed on Tuesday, November 11, 2025 in recognition of Veterans Day. Fire Administration will reopen for regular business on Wednesday, November 12, 2025. All Fire Stations are fully staffed and operational.

Chino Valley Fire responded to an odor investigation at The Shoppes in Chino Hills and found elevated readings on gas monitor. Twelve units are shut down as crews ventilate the area. Firefighters will remain on scene for several hours until levels are safe. No injuries reported.
