Our new study finds that many Medicaid managed care plans aren’t meeting state requirements for SUD medication coverage. Plans also continue requiring prior authorization even when states have prohibited it. Policies exist, but enforcement may be lacking. https://t.co/UYGz4Xf2sp

Super excited to share some of my latest work with @c_m_andrews, @m_westlake711 and Sophia Negaro. We find that most Medicaid health homes are referring out SUD treatment and many fail to comply with SUD screening and treatment co-location requirements.

Analysis Shelby led w/Colleen Grogan+their excellent @NIDAnews-funded team on Kentucky Medicaid managed care is an important analysis of OUD services. Quasi-random plan assignment allows creative causal identification. Plans that cover more OUD treatments display higher rates of OUD diagnoses+greater provision of medications for OUD.
Had a fantastic time talking with @Health_Affairs' Alan Weil on this week's episode of ''A Health Podyssey.'' You can check it out here: https://t.co/Xpc9k8UWtK
