MC RANCH VMP Burn – Santa Margarita Area
CAL FIRE San Luis Obispo Unit will be conducting the MC RANCH VMP burn Wednesday, July 1st, east of Santa Margarita.
Crews are burning approximately 30 acres to reduce wildfire risk and improve oak woodland habitat. Smoke may be visible from Hwy 101 and surrounding areas.
This is a planned, controlled burn.

VEHICLE/VEGETATION FIRE: Firefighters at scene of a vehicle fire with 1/8 of an acre spread into the vegetation, Unit at scene reported fire is out. The #Gillisfire is near 4900 block of Gillis Canyon Road in Shandon, CA. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

CAL FIRE / San Luis Obispo County Fire is on scene with Paso Robles City Fire and Templeton Fire at a residential structure fire in the 1100 block of Ladera Ln in the Paso Robles area.

Firefighters are actively working the incident. Please avoid the area and watch for emergency personnel and equipment.

Vegetation Fire – Paso Robles Area

CAL FIRE / San Luis Obispo County Fire is responding with Paso Robles City Fire to a vegetation fire in the 6000 block of Vista Serrano Way in the Paso Robles area.

The fire is approximately 0.5 acre in grass. Firefighters are on their way and on scene working to contain the fire.

Rescue swimmers and team in action

Surf Rescue – North Coast

CAL FIRE / San Luis Obispo County Fire and Cambria Fire, and H70 are responding to a reported kayak rescue approximately 2 miles south of the Elephant Seal parking area on Hwy 1.

The kayak capsized with two people initially reported in the water. One person remains in the water, and crews are working to gain access and complete the rescue.

Please avoid the area and allow emergency personnel to operate safely.
