He was joined by Finance Minister @JohnODowdSF and Economy Minister @CArchibald_SF.
More on-air and online.
I am investing in @CoDerryAirport because of its strategic importance to the wider North West, the Irish government is investing Shared Island funding to support the Derry to Dublin service but disappointingly the British government has said it will apply APD to flights leaving Derry on this route.
The service will unlock important economic, business and tourism opportunities in the North West.
I will therefore continue to engage with the British Government and urge it to reconsider this position, do the right thing and exempt this important air link from APD
Economy Minister Dr @CArchibald_SF has expressed her disappointment that the British Government intends to apply Air Passenger Duty (APD) to flights departing from the City of Derry Airport (CODA) on the Derry-Dublin air service, due to start later this year.

We want to pay tribute to the incredible sacrifice and service of Gerry Kelly to the cause of Irish freedom over many decades, as he announces that he will not contest the upcoming Assembly election.
Gerry has been at the heart of the republican struggle and Sinn Féin leadership for decades.
His commitment and leadership are, and will always be, immensely valued by Republicans across Ireland.
In 2026, Sinn Féin is the strongest we have been since partition.
We look forward to Gerry continuing to play an important role during these times of historic change as we continue to work toward a new and united Ireland.
We want to wish Gerry, Margaret and the entire Kelly family the very best.
Listening to people is at the heart of everything we do.

I am hugely excited about the Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann coming to Belfast for the first time in less than a fortnight.
Today I had the pleasure of being hosted in Áras an Uachtaráin by @PresidentIRL along with Ard Mheara @RoismairedSF to mark the occasion of the Fleadh coming to Belfast.
I am looking forward to a really uplifting week of Irish music, dance, culture and craic starting Sunday 2nd August 🎶💚
Glad to welcome the Economy Minister @CArchibald_SF to Strabane to meet with local businesses.
The rising cost of doing business as well as the changing attitudes of consumers is impacting on town centres.
Good to hear commitment on regional balance & supporting businesses.
We can never accept burning effigies of political representatives, flags or symbols as normal.
In any other part of the world, this would be unfathomable and unacceptable. It should be no different here.
This is hatred, rooted in ugly sectarianism and racism.
Last night, effigies of political representatives, including myself, were placed on bonfires, surrounded by flags and emblems.
Those responsible have nothing to offer except fear and division.
But they will not succeed.
I will not let hatred dictate our future.
I will continue to build a future where all our children grow up free from hate.

A shameful night for the FAI

Every nation that has fought for freedom has its sacred places. Every nation that has struggled against oppression has its hallowed turf. Sites of stillness and power where the soil carries the legacy of rebellion, courage, sacrifice and hope.
Today, we march to such a place.
The graveside of Theobald Wolfe Tone; A patriot, a revolutionary, the leader of the United Irishmen uprising of 1798, the founding father of Irish Republicanism.

Next May, Sinn Féin will stand three candidates in Foyle in the Assembly election.
Ciara Ferguson, Sandra Duffy and Christopher Jackson work hard every day to deliver for Derry.
We can continue the positive change already underway in Derry by electing all three to the Assembly.
Let’s seize the opportunity to elect three Sinn Féin MLAs for Foyle, who will work as part of a strong all-Ireland team to deliver more investment, more jobs and more opportunity.
