scarcity availability narrative
value comes from scarcity and narrative. how many exist, and is the story getting bigger or smaller
price comes from the live floor. i find the lowest available price and ask the vendor to beat it
last sold isnt value. last sale just shows what one person paid, and people overpay tops all the time
and when the market hasnt caught up to the story, i dont haggle, i just buy
wemby green kaboom 1/1 sold for 516k in february. same card just sold for $1.44m after the finals run. even after he lost. last sold said 516k. the narrative said otherwise
availability and demand are a more important if the item is not scarce, everyone will seek out the cheapest available option.
last sale just shows what someone paid, but it doesnt show intent or who bought it.
sports cards are an incredibly inefficient market
last sale doesnt equal current value
