EDUCATE AWARD WINNERS!
We’re very proud to announce that we are the winner of the 2024 Educate Awards ‘Communication Award.’
The Communication Award is awarded to schools who demonstrate creativity and strong communication with stakeholders, looking at the full media spectrum
The judges highlighted our use of digital communication “Cardinal Heenan Catholic High School has a great new website, and one of the largest, and most highly engaged, school social media followings.”
TEACHING AND LEARNING BREAKFAST
At Cardinal Heenan we provide plenty of learning and CPD opportunities for our staff. During our Teaching and Learning Breakfast, Mr Wharmby delivered a session on AI in teaching.
A great opportunity for our staff to learn about new technologies!
REMEMBRANCE DAY
Today pupils and staff will observe two minutes silence to remember those who gave their lives for our freedom.
During form time our pupils reflected on why we have Remembrance Day and learnt about the significance of the poppy.
Fortunate enough to spend the day working with the team at @cardinalheenan in Liverpool. It's one of the best schools I've seen recently for the clarity, simplicity and execution of its behaviour culture. Fantastic systems managed by very driven, compassionate people. Superb. Do visit if you can.
Cardinal Heenan Sixth Form Open Evening is tonight!
Join us at 6pm in our sixth form building for a welcome talk from Headteacher Ms Smyth, followed by an opportunity to tour the sixth form and meet our teachers and current students. See you soon!
BACK TO SCHOOL REMINDER
We’re looking forward to welcoming back all of our current pupils and the new pupils starting in Year 7 and Sixth Form this Monday 4th September.
Please take note of the start time for each year group.
Calab Rigley has aspirations to have a career in music after collecting the grades he needs to hopefully study at Liverpool Media Academy.
He tells me: "I play guitar, I sing a little. I'm inspired by David Gilmour so hopefully I can be in a band or something."
Joe Woolerton, 16, is happy with his grades as they set him up for human biology, chemistry, and psychology at A Level.
Joe hopes to study Sports Physiotherapy at Univeristy somewhere in Liverpool.
He says, "I'm big into sports so I'd like to study the academic side of it."
Corey Lackey is another engineering hopeful who is pleased with his "higher than expected" results.
The 16-year-old tells me he's inspired to study engineering because his older brother is a project manager.
Corey will study maths, economics, and applied science at A Level.
On top of his great grades, Dominic Burke definitely wins the award for best dressed here at Cardinal Heenan.
Dominic tells me: "I'm going to study acting at Liverpool College. I've wanted to be an actor since I was really young." /1
Vincent Ejeromedoghene, 16, is prepared to take on the challenge of four A Levels after getting impressive results today.
He looks to study computer science, maths, history, and politics here at Cardinal Heenan.
Vincent then hopes to study computer science at University.
James Smith, 16, couldn't stop smiling as he told me he achieved a 7 in maths.
James said he enjoyed GCSEs but found it very tough. He says: "I think the hardest challenge is the nerves of exams but I just stayed composed."
He will study biology, chemistry, and maths at A Level.
Liam Quaile was very happy with his impressive grades, achieving no grade less than a 7 in his results.
He'll look to study business, maths and economics at A Level with the aim of finance at University.
