Ukraine appears to have found a workaround after Musk rejected the use of Starlink for drone strikes inside Russia. Ukrainian drones are now transmitting video from attacks inside Russian territory, suggesting that Kyiv is using relay drones or mesh networks to maintain communications beyond Starlink's coverage. Analysts say this could allow Ukraine to strike Russian air defenses, radar systems, and other military targets deeper inside the country without needing Starlink to operate over Russian territory.

I’m not implying anything, but over the past five years, CIA directors have made urgent trips either to Russia or to meet personally with Kremlin representatives for two reasons:

1. To try to dissuade Moscow from launching its insane full-scale invasion of Ukraine.

A U.S. Air Force C-17A "Globemaster III", operating under callsign RCH4555, has landed at Vnukovo Airport in Moscow, marking the first publicly observed U.S. Air Force C-17 arrival in Russia since May 2020, when a C-17 delivered ventilators during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The aircraft arrived in Moscow from Riga, Latvia, after having flown to Riga from Joint Base Andrews near Washington, D.C., on August 23.

Flight tracking data indicates the mission is likely connected to an upcoming trip by Secretary of War Pete Hegseth, although that remains unconfirmed. The C-17 is frequently used to preposition personnel, vehicles and equipment ahead of senior-level travel, but it can also serve as transportation for the Secretary of War on sensitive or unannounced missions.

As a young journalist covering the first Chechen war from 1994-1996, I learned what Russian authorities were capable of. The carpet bombing of Grozny killed thousands upon thousands of citizens. For what? To stop the empire from disintegrating and the free will of the people from becoming the norm.

Just as the destruction of the Chechens benefited from the mass dehumanisation campaign of the entire nation back then, current propaganda is attempting to obliterate Ukrainian independence and nationhood. The Kremlin’s appetite has only grown in 30 years and has not been thwarted by Western diplomacy, which is built on good will and hope for peaceful coexistence.

Syrian Internal Security Forces discovered a 100-meter mass grave in al-Milabiya village near Hasakah, under SDF control until January 2026. The grave echoes March findings near al-Shaddadi's former SDF detention facility, where nine bodies were exhumed.

Multiple mass graves have surfaced across Hasakah since early 2026, with authorities conducting DNA testing to identify victims and investigate the circumstances of deaths.

The Ministry of Interior’s own summary now says it in one line: the investigator slapped Mohammad Ghmeira, which led to his death, knowing his illness and its severity.

Hold onto those last words. Once the state concedes the officer knew this was a hemophiliac who could bleed to death from a blow, and struck him anyway, this stops being “an unintended death in the line of duty.” Beating a detainee is no one’s duty. Striking a man you knew can die from it is not an accident.

The lenient charge , negligent killing, a duty gone wrong, is the one to watch for. The ministry has already written the harder truth: knowledge, a blow, a death.
