Jonah understandably resented the Ninevites, a violent people who ravaged the regions around them and boasted in their own cruelty.
And yet, the sobering lesson of Jonah is this:
We cannot harden our hearts to people,
without also hardening our hearts to God.
I had a student from Ethiopia and she speaks a rare Ethiopian dialect and had immigrated here as a kid. She said she had never heard anyone but her and her mom speak the dialect. I asked her what she'd do if her & her mom were in Starbucks and heard some ppl speaking the dialect
And finally, one that got me out of a creativity slump. I still feel in that slump a bit, but I'm sticking with my mantra that bad art is better than no art.
