I spoke with @carolewalkercw for @TimesRadio
Today we feel a renewed sense of hope
There is no doubt about the challenges the Prime Minister faces
He needs to draw from the very best from across the movement
The @thefabians are ready to help this government deliver on their promise to the British public
So sorry to hear of Dermot Murnaghan’s death. A great journalist and a genuinely lovely guy. I was honoured to appear on his podcast - he will certainly be remembered as a true Legend of News
So sad to learn of Dermot Murnaghan’s passing.
A consummate broadcaster, an exceptionally generous colleague and just a lovely, lovely bloke.
Sincere condolences to his loved ones.

Housing Secretary Steve Reed and @carolewalkercw can’t agree on the government’s commitment to defence spending.
“That is just not sufficient given the threat we face as a country.”
Great @TimesRadio politics special with @carolewalkercw Very interesting interview with Catherine West, the stalking horse; more nuanced than I realised. Excellent John Boothman analysis of Holyrood too. Can this be a regular ‘Saturday Night on the Radio’ slot please? @TimesRadio@timlevell
Says she’s been open and spoke to party chair Anna Turley last night about her thinking and intentions, and has been unimpressed with the No10 response to local elex results seen today.
Catherine West tells @TimesRadio she has spoken to cabinet ministers and party leadership about her plans.
She tells @carolewalkercw - “I’ve suggested to the leadership that this is a way forward and that’s been respectfully listened to, and I’m very grateful for conversations that I’ve had with a couple of members of the cabinet.”
FYI, I’ll be on @TimesRadio in about 15 minutes with @carolewalkercw talking about the Mideast, energy, and UAE dumping OPEC. Check it out: https://t.co/lFK0ZUM0F7

Reported to @TimesRadio on the latest stage of negotiations. Love talking to @carolewalkercw - great questions and sharp analysis. Share with your friends and follow Times Radio😉- they always provide extensive coverage of everything related to Ukraine.
CAROL: How much frustration is there on Ukraine's part about the attitude of President Trump at the start of this latest lot of talks, he talked about how they were waiting for Ukraine to come to the table, when Ukraine, of course, has done that?
KATERYNA: At some point, regular Ukrainians got used to this. They almost don’t react anymore. Many Ukrainians have become quite disappointed with the United States, and I think they may not even take these statements seriously.
Regarding officials, President Zelensky said he hopes this is some kind of strategy on Donald Trump’s part — to publicly put pressure only on Ukraine. But he doesn’t know for sure; it’s just his hope. In general, he said it’s unfair for the American president to publicly put pressure on the Ukrainian side, as if Russia were always at the table, just waiting for Ukraine to join. This is basically not true — something you know, I know, and all Ukrainians know.
