@tombrazelton My guess would’ve been it’s just an old word for moldy. I’m pretty sure “must” was a word for mold, like on bread rather than like on wood. So “musty” would be “it smells kinda like moldy bread in here”? But also just a guess.

@CoreyDotCom I don’t recall, but 14th C lit isn’t really my bag (though I like the hits: The Canterbury Tales, Sir Gawain...). Maybe a later work? 18th C is when stuff really makes me laugh. Maybe Tristram Shandy? I remember gushing about it on a podcast. I could talk about it for days.
