The birth of modern India was painful, the scars of which continue till today. @cdivakaruni has beautifully portrayed the pain of partition of Bengal which has never been spoken or portrayed in the same way as Punjab. ‘Independence’ is a book which captures the pain of the Ganguly sisters poignantly. Once started, you just can’t put it down.
