“Jesus Christ is at the center of this house of the Lord, and so we’re grateful to be here, be part of this dedication,” said President Dieter F. Uchtdorf (@UchtdorfDF), Acting President of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles, who dedicated the Willamette Valley Oregon Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, in Springfield, Oregon, on Sunday, June 7, 2026. This is Oregon’s third house of the Lord.
More than 200 Latter-day Saints gathered inside Oregon’s newest temple for the dedication. The sacred event was also broadcast to hundreds of other faithful members at local meetinghouses in the temple district.

In the temple we learn to distinguish between the holy and the profane, the clean and the unclean.
The words at the door of the temple—“Holiness to the Lord”— are both an invitation and a commandment to all who would enter.
Just as this newly dedicated Yorba Linda California Temple is in the world and yet is a place apart, here each of us learns how to be in the world and yet not of the world.
Gradually all that is impure or unworthy in our character is rooted out as we draw closer to the Lord in His house. Our very desires change over time. It is a conditioning for life in a holy, celestial realm.
Years ago, I flew a brand-new B747 on its first flight from Seattle to San Francisco. It was a clear day, and I was amazed by the beauty of the remarkable lineup of six solitary volcanoes, from Mount Rainier and Mount Hood to Mount Shasta.
Today, along the same route, we find more than six temples proclaiming Holiness to the Lord—the newest being the Willamette Valley Oregon Temple, which I was blessed to dedicate today. The house of the Lord lifts our vision, reorients our hearts, and reminds us who we are and whose we are.
Just as these great mountains mark the landscape, holy temples—and the covenants we make there—mark and connect our lives with the God of the Universe.
When you come to the temple during times of personal trial and great sorrow, you will find sweet peace for your soul. When you come to give thanks and worship God, our Heavenly Father, you will receive a special measure of affirmation and confidence from Him.
The temple will enrich your lives, inspire you to create in your homes and families a spirit of hope and peace, and endow you with blessings from on high.
In a new video from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Elder Geritt W. Gong of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles explores “how to hear God’s voice clearly in an age of artificial intelligence (AI), and why that distinction matters more now than ever.”
“Can artificial intelligence replace God?” Elder @GerritWGong asks in the hour-long, gospel workshop video now available on YouTube. “That question may sound provocative, but in an age when we turn to algorithms for answers, guidance and even comfort, it matters deeply.”

On Saturday, June 6, 2026, groundbreaking ceremonies took place for the Springfield Missouri and Missoula Montana Temples of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
“There are pictures of Christ in the temple to remind us of Him and why we choose to live the gospel,” Isabelle Duncan, a youth from the Missoula Montana Stake, said.

As contention infects the media, classroom, politics and workplaces, Relief Society General President Camille N. Johnson said, “Love your neighbor (including your adversaries), avoid contention and make peace” during the Religious Educators Conference on June 4, 2026, in Provo, Utah.
“Love changes the heart. Avoiding contention changes the tone. Peacemaking changes relationships and our communities,” the leader told thousands of religious educators of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints who teach more than a million enrolled students worldwide. “And in that progressive pattern we become more like, and draw closer to, Jesus Christ.”

Members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in more than 14,600 congregations around the United States discussed the importance of the Constitution and other foundational documents during Sunday services on May 31, 2025.
In a video shown on Sunday, President D. Todd Christofferson (@ChristoffDTodd) of the First Presidency, accompanied by Elder Quentin L. Cook (@CookQuentinL) of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles, said, “We believe that the most important aspect of the Constitution is its role in promoting and protecting the individual moral agency of God’s children everywhere.”
Members of one small congregation (branch) of the Church in Tampa, Florida, shared what’s happening in their home countries, the freedoms that have been taken away, and how grateful they are for the religious liberties that now allow them to worship as they wish.
Dade City Branch President Steven Hatch said, “Whatever is going on in the world or whatever politics are happening, the Savior unites us. It’s up to us members of the Church and all American citizens to continue fighting for religious freedom for all.”

Elder Neil L. Andersen of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles dedicated the Bacolod Philippines Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on Sunday, May 31, 2026.
“These houses of the Lord bring a power to the people,” Elder @AndersenNeilL said. “It allows the people to covenant with the Lord and remember those covenants on a regular basis because they’re in the house of the Lord. And the Lord blesses them for keeping their covenants.”
The temple is the third to be dedicated this year in the Philippines. Two additional temples are under construction, and six are in planning stages.
“The effect of these many temples in the Philippines will be the same effect as it is across the world,” Elder Andersen said. “There will be more disciples of Christ, more devoted Latter-day Saints, more families that are sealed who stay together and continue through the generations.”

In recognition of the 250-year anniversary of the founding of the United States of America as a free and independent nation, Elder Quentin L. Cook and I discussed the importance of religious liberty and its underlying significance for the restored Church of Jesus Christ.
We believe in religious liberty.
As the Eleventh Article of Faith reminds us, “We claim the privilege of worshiping Almighty God according to the dictates of our own conscience, and allow all men the same privilege, let them worship how, where, or what they may.”
Phones, watches, doorbells, cars, factories and energy grids are increasingly becoming connected, all collecting and communicating information to be interpreted, analyzed and acted upon.
Noting this trend, Elder Gerrit W. Gong (@GerritWGong) of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles will discuss how to safely navigate artificial intelligence in a 60-minute gospel workshop video titled “Faith, Dignity and Human Flourishing: Hearing God’s Voice in an Age of Artificial Intelligence,” available on Sunday, June 7, 2026.
