@wanyeburkett If you take one thing from 9 different Northern European countries and ignore all the shitty parts then yeah, they look pretty great compared to America.
@repressionnap@tracewoodgrains This stat was cherry picked and misunderstood. IIRC, there were net 300,000 jobs created (stat 1). 279,000 poc were also hired in that time period (stat 2) so inference is that only 6% were white, but discounts stuff like people moving from one job to another, retirement, etc
@wanyeburkett The people who have a lot of student loans easily can repay them, they just don’t feel it’s fair. Their sociology degree is a public good, and it should be funded by the taxpayers.
@ZaidJilani I’ll be honest - it was her video reply about her DNA tests. She tried to use like a 2% Native American result (6-10 generations) to validate her claims, not only proving that she lied, but being too dumb to know not to release it, and having too many yes-men that didn’t stop her
@wanyeburkett In a similar way, nationalism was a tremendous advancement when you could create an other that most people would never meet. It’s only the last forty years or so when global travel and communication has turned nationalism from a theoretical scapegoat to an actual impediment.
@MathIntee@LizWolfeReason In fairness, the average gay man has so much more sex than the average straight man, it makes sense that would be a larger threat to a woman in a marriage than the opposite. It’s hard to imagine if you marry a truly bi-man he will ever be more than monogomish.
@MathIntee@LizWolfeReason The general consensus still seems to be:
Bi-women are good as a partner because they could be open for threesomes (MFF, obv)
Bi-men are bad as partners because they can’t be trusted to not cheat, bring home STDs, and eventually leave you when they decide they are fully gay.
@LizWolfeReason I feel like we know the reason - saying you are bi (or the more nebulous queer) has social advantages in a lot of circles, and at the least puts you above other fully straight white women in the oppression hierarchy. It’s mostly in-group signaling.
@wanyeburkett Wage theft is America’s number one problem - someone who works a remote middle management job and has put in a solid 12 hours in total since 2021.
@tracewoodgrains Beyond that, they don’t even understand how to be cruel and disruptive if they actually wanted to. If they actually wanted to hurt trans people, they would only misgender and exclude people who didn’t pass. It would be 10x the mindfuck that calling Blair White a ‘he’ is.
@tracewoodgrains I feel like there is a large group of people who are genuinely concerned about the long term effects of medical transition, especially on children, and how it is being abused by our healthcare system. Unfortunately, most of the people on this site just want to misgender people.
@tracewoodgrains I totally get the theory of mind for TERFs on why it’s harmful to use non-natal sex pronouns for people, but they just come off as bullies. They would get a lot further if they stopped coming off as bitter and mean as they do.
