Man, I just finished the New #KingOfTheHill Revival. Just as funny as I remembered it being, one of my all-time fav shows.
But seeing these end cards back to back felt like a gut punch to reality.π’ Rest in peace.
if anything this proves making a good game is not an accident or lighting striking like 90% of studios would make you think
itβs just institutional knowledge, allowing time to experiment, and not getting laid off every 3 years
Wow, they're really giving Donkey Kong the Studio Ghibli treatment.πI really hope this raises the bar for every Nintendo game after, cause this is genuinely amazing.π€―
@jam_etc_art@bythebelle yep bout to say this, unless you're on a 1-2 minute of animation a week budget and forced to use the tween machine with zero time to polish lol. it happensπ₯²
AI tech billionaires target art first because industries like medicine or engineering are heavily regulated β mistakes there can kill people and lead to heavy lawsuits. Art is unprotected, easy to scrape, and low-risk for them to exploit. π
@slimjosa Billionaires donβt want AI to make art just because itβs βinnovativeβ or βefficient.β They want it because art shapes human perception, and if they control the tools of creation, they control the narrativeβforever.
what do you seriously have against human beings being in charge of making art?
It won't be you in charge of the AI that makes literature/film; it will be the billionaires that own everything, they want to shape all human perception indefinitely. that's the end goal as I see it.
ChatGPT 4o's new image gen is insane. Here's what Severance would look like in 8 famous animation styles π§΅
1/8:
Rankin/Bass β That nostalgic stop-motion look like Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer. Cozy and janky.
@HannaBarberaCap I think there are less than a dozen people who used to be animators who could afford a yacht in the world. that line was definitely changed lmao.
This is a really great original adult animated show that isn't a reboot, superhero, or lowest-common-denominator sitcom. PLEASE GIVE IT A CHANCE WATCH IT!π₯²
@charliepgavin Shrek's og style was to contrast the systemic cutsie style of Disney and parody it, and it did it flawlessly. There's nothing wrong with the new designs, but yeah this kind of goes against its original purpose.
@Arran_Baker I think it's super interesting seeing the discussion around Shrek both for and against it, it just kinda shows how big these movies' footprint has been culturally online fully unironically. π―
