@ausstockchick You are correct that once in super its locked in super until retirement age. If the Giv changes the rules, which they have can and have, your super fund is affected. BUT, if you know how to invest well, a SMSF can be a very effective asset.

Thought Id lop in that my power bill this month was almost triple last year. Everything the same from us. Except its been warmer, so less use of the HVAC. I asked @AmberElectricAU & their AI bot replied. 2 things I noticed.

@AmberElectricAU So when you have solar & battery, if you happen to draw from the grid during peak, you are 'encouraged not to' by being slugged hefty fees.

We've had a lot of cloudy days in June, so its clear we used some power in the 'demand cycle'.

@AmberElectricAU Network Demand Charges have almost double. What is a NDC? I didnt know either. Amber's description starts with 'Demand tariffs are a type of network tariff that are a little more complicated'. In short, you are charged heavily if u use power in peak to encourage you not to.

A staff member is visiting the Sydney office today from Brisbane. Their sim is not connecting here. To explain, ACMA has a new policy for visiting QLDers. Sim cards blocked the day after Origin because their constant 'did you c the match' BS causes too much network congestion!

.@auspost has changed a lot in the last 5 yrs. Express Mail, where you pay extra, would arrive faster. Even Sydney to Perth was overnight. Today, its 4x days. Staff at my PO are great, but that is too long for a premium service. Any other options I should consider?
