A few months ago, we launched our Center of Excellence.
A project we had dreamt about, worked on, and poured ourselves into for many months.

It was such a great honor to host the President of the Republic of Kenya, His Excellency William Samoei Ruto, at the center, where we shared the vision and the blueprint we have for the Kenyan young people.

Had a cheerful and robust engagement with my Ugandan grandparents, H.E. President Yoweri Museveni and H.E. First Lady Janet Museveni, in Kampala today.
It was an honour to sit at their feet and learn from their wisdom and experience over the years as I also shared my work on the young people of Kenya, an initiative I will be spreading to other African nations in the near future. Yebare Munonga!

Maama Janet and I welcomed our Muzzukulu, Charlene Ruto and her team. We discussed areas of cooperation and shared interest.
I am pleased that she is investing on the continent. Africa must continue to focus on value addition in order to create jobs and retain wealth within our region.
We also explored ways of strengthening regional collaboration to create more opportunities for our young people.

THE SYSTEM
A lot is said about 'The System'
The system...has failed us...
The system...is corrupt...
What really is this system?

I have had the privilege of serving as a volunteer, intern, employee, entrepreneur, Founder and CEO of @typn_i and @smachs_org and Patron of various organizations

What I realize is that as young people we have the opportunity to CREATE our own systems and structures...CREDIBLE, EFFICIENT, GOOD...that work not only for us, but for generations to come

I have met many who have registered CBOs, NGOs, companies, but more for themselves and their personal gain
What if we thought differently ? What if we saw things differently? That we would want these organizations to serve the greater good rather than a few years of access to rooms or photo ops?

I mean, we are 75% of the population...so you tell me...

There is a profound humility in sharing space with young leaders who are writing the future before your very eyes….. this was my reality sitting with our county student presidents @ACSP_K and partners.

What unfolded in that room went far beyond a standard engagement. It became a sanctuary for honest dialogue and a powerful alignment on the values that define true leadership, governance, and impact.
In their conviction, I found pieces of my own hope ..in their eyes, I saw the promise of tomorrow.

These moments didn’t just inform me… they reaffirmed my deepest vow to nurture visionary, responsible, and solution-oriented leaders right where the seeds of change are sown. As we prepare to continue this journey next week, I carry forward a spirit renewed by our collective purpose and a heart full of possibility.

P.S. To the team and the young leaders thank you for the birthday surprise! You almost had me convinced we were only there to talk policy…. but you caught me completely off guard. My heart is very full!

Everything rises and falls on leadership. I 100% believe this.

Thanks to the leadership of Dr Eric Katana, CEO of Bandari Maritime Academy, I had the privilege and honour to interact with 400 students at the institution.

Immersing myself in their virtual ship, watching their survival tactics to swim in the sea in crisis moments and viewing the amazing student-directed drama ' The Voyage' was quite an experience for me!

In as much as I officially shared my official remarks on leadership and student life, my greatest joy was in the informal conversations after, laughter and selfies.

My greatest thanks to Chief Mentor Mahmoud Noor, Founder of Swahili Pot Hub, for speaking so candidly with the young people and supporting them.

Hand in Hand.
For Better Foods.
And a Better Future.

As young people, this World Food Day, we extended a hand of hope, a hand of solutions, and a hand of support to our communities, our mentors, and other young people.

In partnership with @FAO , we listened to and assessed 11 presentations by young people in agriculture, ranging from innovations in black soldier fly farming, local mechanization, and yes, even rice cookies.

The top three were awarded cash prizes of Ksh 50,000, 30,000, and 20,000 respectively, to help them scale to the next level.

Truly, as young people, if we walk hand in hand, we can shift the average age of the African farmer from 60 to 16.
