Today in Cheap Trick history: 11 June – (2001) Tonight was the first of a 3-night “album show” run at The Garage, London. The debut “Cheap Trick” album was performed in its entirety. Seven further songs followed, including “Fan Club”, two impromptu verses of “Who d’King” (during a short technical break), “I Can’t Take It” and “Voices”.
Today in Cheap Trick history: 10 June – (1994) Touring to promote the recently released “Woke Up With a Monster” album, Cheap Trick performed at the Beachside Festival Grounds in Mason, Ohio.
Today in Cheap Trick history: 5 June – (1982) The single “If You Want My Love” debuted in the Billboard Hot-100 chart at #81, and would go on to spend 11 weeks in the chart, peaking at #45. The lead single from the “One on One” album, the song charted in the UK and the Netherlands, but most notably in Australia.
Today in Cheap Trick history: 4 June – (1977) Cheap Trick performed the second of a three consecutive night run at the Whisky a Go Go in West Hollywood, California. Four tracks from the shows on this day were included in the “https://t.co/WFMIpqbSXM Trick” box set. The 2020 Record Store Day vinyl release “Out To Get You! Live 1977” included 12 further songs from the early and late shows on this day, while 2022’s “Live at The Whisky 1977” limited edition 4CD box offered the full sets from both 3 and 4 June.
Today in Cheap Trick history: 3 June – (1997) Cheap Trick performed an 18-song set at Toad’s Place in New Haven, Connecticut, which included 8 songs from the new album on the Red Ant label. The band performed at this venue several times during the 1990’s.

Today in Cheap Trick history: 20 May - (2013) The band performed a 15 song set at the iHeart Radio Theater in New York, with audio and video of the show streamed live. Picture courtesy of iHeart Radio.
It began at the Sunset Bowl in Waukesha in 1976 and turned into a lifetime of great recordings, memorable studio sessions, and most importantly, a genuine friendship that lasted through the years.

The band performed a 17-song set that included “Oh Candy”, “Welcome to the World”, “Come On Come On Come On”, “Best Friend” and “If It Takes a Lifetime”.
