The wearable robot is both a walking assistant and a fitness tool🏃‍♂️

Cheddar News’ Justine Miller tried the HyperShell Halo exoskeleton at TechCrunch Disrupt in San Francisco.

The wearable straps to the hips and legs on a lightweight carbon fiber frame. It isn’t a medical device. It has three modes: eco adds “a little bit of a pep in your step,” hyper is built to “really boost you a lot,” and fitness flips it, making walking harder.

The Halo costs $2,300 and is available for pre-order now, with shipping in January.

The biggest IPO in history is happening👀

The AI company behind Claude filed confidentially with the SEC in June. A public filing would clear the way for a possible November listing, and it would give investors their first full look at the company’s finances and risks.

The numbers are huge on both sides. Anthropic brought in $16.3 billion in revenue in the first half of 2026 and posted a net loss of more than $80 billion, according to the Wall Street Journal. The Financial Times reports third-quarter revenue rose to $16.8 billion, from $11.5 billion in the second quarter. Wall Street expects a raise of up to $100 billion at a $2 trillion valuation, according to Reuters, which would top SpaceX’s June IPO.

Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang says paying more under California’s proposed billionaire tax would be “a privilege.”

The measure is a one-time 5% tax on residents worth more than $1.1B as of Jan. 1, 2026, payable over five years. Asked by CBS News’ Jo Ling Kent about a potential bill of about $8B over five years, Huang said: “The more you make, the more taxes you pay. I’m okay with that.” He added, “I’m not afraid of paying taxes. I’m just afraid of being poor.”

His stance stands out as some wealthy residents leave the state ahead of Prop 40 on November 3rd.

“Robotics is going to be one of the most impactful shifts we've seen in society."

Rivian CEO RJ Scaringe at TechCrunch Disrupt on Mind Robotics, the industrial robotics startup he founded in 2025 and spun out of Rivian.

Mind is building AI models, robot hardware and deployment tools to automate hands-on, reasoning-heavy factory work. Rivian is a shareholder and partner, and its high-volume plant serves as a live environment for training and deploying the robots. The startup has raised more than $1B in under a year, most recently $400M led by Kleiner Perkins at a reported $3.4B valuation.

Scaringe says Mind marks "the beginning of this inflection point" in how products are built and designed.

The former Disney CEO is breaking his silence, and he is not holding back📣

In his new memoir, Bob Chapek is accusing Bob Iger of undermining his tenure and describes a “relentless” campaign to push him out.

Bob Chapek was named CEO of Disney on February 25, 2020, immediately succeeding Bob Iger, who assumed the role of Executive Chairman to direct the company’s creative endeavors through the end of his contract on December 31, 2021. Ultimately, Chapek was ousted for his weak performance during the company’s quarterly earnings call in November 2022.

Following his firing, Chapek received $24.18 million in compensation for 2022, plus severance payments exceeding $20 million.

What’s your thought on his side of the story?

Ahead of a landmark $2 trillion IPO, Anthropic runs into a slight hurdle.

The company now faces a critical challenge: translating years of warnings about existential AI risks into formal disclosures required by securities regulators. The IPO filing has forced Anthropic into a difficult reckoning, as the company must decide whether to address catastrophic AI risks directly, or frame them through business-specific categories like regulatory exposure and reputational harm, a choice that legal experts say could either constitute the most material risk disclosure ever filed or represent a fundamental misuse of IPO documents.

This challenge became considerably more complicated in early September when researcher Jacob Coxon resigned from Anthropic and publicly warned that the company and its competitors are recklessly racing toward self-improving superintelligence while gambling with human lives, claims that were quickly backed by Anthropic's own alignment science lead Evan Hubinger, who stated he personally believes there is greater than a 10% chance AI could kill all humans within the next decade.

Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei responded to Coxon's resignation by publishing an essay calling for slower AI development and stronger guardrails, and said that he largely agreed with Coxon's concerns. Amodei conceded that the risks are substantial, though he emphasized that the potential benefits could still be transformative for humanity.

Once again, NVIDIA has doubled down on the AI arms race.

The buyback signals management believes the stock is attractively priced, especially given expectations for explosive earnings growth. By reducing share count through repurchases, NVIDIA boosts earnings per share for remaining shareholders.

The ability to dedicate a quarter trillion dollars to buybacks underscores NVIDIA's commanding position in the AI infrastructure race, widening the gap between it and competitors.
