I started my trip to Tacoma, Washington for National League of Cities Transportation and Infrastructure Services Federal Advocacy Committee Summer Board Meeting the right way - by taking public transit from SEA-TAC to my hotel! It was free, timely, spacious, & easy to navigate.

Jumped on the 574 bus at the airport, and as there was no place to buy a transit card, I rode for free.

9 stops (~45 mins) to the Tacoma-Dome to connect with the T-Line (a free downtown commuter rail).

55 mins total trip. $0. ($2.75 if I did pay).

Single-stair apartment buildings can be a great fit for compact lots. They easily integrate with the existing fabric of cities and can be built almost anywhere.

Sadly, American building codes make new single-stair buildings illegal in most cities, even though they are broadly accepted across the globe. Updating these building codes could unlock a plethora of new housing options in supply constrained American cities.

Heads up, WeHo! Metro has a planned installation of new bus priority lanes along N. La Brea Avenue in WeHo and LA.

Construction is expected to occur Mon through Fri between 9 AM and 3:30 PM and is anticipated to last four and six weeks.
