Last night was my last recruit graduation, and I will miss these events dearly.
Being a part of the excitement, meeting the recruits and learning their stories, witnessing the triumphant end of one chapter and the thrilling start of another – it’s such a deeply rewarding experience.
As my policing career nears its end, I am heartened to see the future of the profession is in very good hands.
Congratulations to our graduates!

I'm not sure that others appreciate just how much time our auxiliaries donate to bettering our community, and just how much support they provide to our police service.
These are remarkable people doing amazing things every day, and meeting these dedicated volunteers to hand them their badges last night was a tremendous honour.
Good luck and congratulations to our newest class of auxiliary constables!
Behind every recruit, there’s someone that for got them there.
For many, that’s mom.
Happy Mother’s Day to all the moms that support our families and communities, including those eating their brunch today on patrol or at the desk 💐
A thoughtful way to honour a fallen hero, and to close an emotional day.
@YRP and officers from across the country gathered in Cobourg today to be with @OPP_News and the family of Sergeant Malcolm today.
Tonight, #OPP General Headquarters in Orillia is illuminated in blue to honour the life of OPP Sergeant Brandon Malcolm.
We remember his service and sacrifice, and carry forward the legacy he leaves behind with pride.

Today at the @heroesinlife Ceremony of Remembrance, we were reminded that peace comes at a price.
As police officers, we are entrusted to carry out many duties in the name of public safety.
Remembering those killed in the line of duty is one we carry out in the name of honour and respect—not only for those officers, but for those they left behind.
Today we held the annual @yrp memorial ceremony, remembering those who made the ultimate sacrifice to protect our community.
It has been one of the greatest honours of my career to know the family members of our fallen officers.
Today we remember them, their selfless courage and sacrifice. Every time I put on the uniform, I work to make these men proud.

Congrats to my friend and colleague, Paulo Da Silva, on earning the title of Chief of Police.
I am confident as Chief, under his leadership and vision, that @yrp will continue to thrive, to serve our community well, and maintain its position as a trailblazer in policing.
It was the honour of my life serving as Chief, and I know it will be his, too.
Congratulations to Deputy Chief Paulo Da Silva who has been appointed to be the next chief of @yrp, effective June 27, 2026.
In his most recent role as deputy, Da Silva has overseen the Community Safety Branch, which includes all five districts.
We know Chief-Designate Da Silva will continue to lead YRP forward, serving our community and building on the strength, professionalism and dedication of our members.
Help us congratulate Chief-Designate Da Silva on this momentous achievement.

As we mark Yom HaShoah, we remember the millions of people who were senselessly murdered during the Holocaust.
Today and every day, we grieve for those who were lost and honour the survivors.
At @yrp, we will continue to stand up hate in all of its ugly forms because discrimination, bigotry and intolerance have no place in #YorkRegion.
Everyone has a right to feel safe and secure in York Region.
Each time I’ve taken part in a promotion ceremony, recognizing our members for their leadership and commitment, it’s been a genuine pleasure.
Mentoring members and watching them achieve their goals has been one of the most rewarding parts of my career, and I will miss it when I retire this June.
Congrats to our 20 newest sergeants and detectives!
