@avidseries If the purpose here is simply to classify them, where else would you list it, given that Mormons claim to be followers of Christ in addition to their other beliefs?
If 100% adherence to the bible is the basis, most of these aren't Christian anyway.
Stealing from the future 101. This 101 will attempt to describe facts. It is not political except to say that the outcome was entirely bipartisan. It spans 46 years of a wide variety of political alignments.
The big takeaway is every single member of society has benefitted
Five Socratic-based questions to improve your thinking. 1/2
5. What would it take to change your mind? Be specific.
4. If your best reason for believing that was false, would you still believe? (That's called a "real reason check".)
Yes, the people who call themselves 'trans' exist and they deserve exactly the same rights as everyone else, which, fortunately, they already have in the UK. It would rightly be considered discrimination if a person was refused employment, housing or the vote because they identified as trans.
'Trans women are women' is a thought-terminating cliché. Men are not women. That doesn't mean they're not allowed to present themselves however they like, call themselves whatever they like and believe whatever they like about themselves. It means they haven't changed sex.
If we replace the objective, observable characteristic of sex with the unfalsifiable concept of gender identify, women and girls lose, among other things, their right to fair and safe sport and women-only spaces, including changing rooms, prison cells and rape crisis services.
Women and girls are provably more vulnerable to forms of abuse including sexual assault, harassment and voyeurism in mixed-sex spaces. There is no evidence that trans-identified men don't have exactly the same rates of criminal offending as all other men.
Trans people exist. I have no desire for them not to exist; indeed, I wish them safety, happiness and health. However, 'existence' does not, and should not, mean the violation of other people's right to privacy, dignity and freedom of speech, or the reconfiguration of society to indulge a fallacy.
@HistoryBoomer Consumption isn't the only reason for demand. From textbooks to toilet paper, people & businesses will purchase items when they see opportunity.
@JenGregg@shai_machnes@aakashgupta@grok He’s trying to understand whether the outsized statistic comes more from a higher proportion of high income families instead of from the exercise itself. It’s a good question. What we need is data on people in the same income bracket.
@rev_cap@Ksidiii I'm not sure how cash savings is counted. If they're only counting standard savings accounts then they're not capturing people throwing money into MM accounts. Why would you keep $3000 in the bank making no interest when you can click a button.
