Palmer Step-Up Day was held today. 4th-8th grade students met next school year's teachers and learned about the curriculum, grade level expectations, etc. Most importantly, students' anxieties quickly turned to smiles 😊 @ChiPubSchools

Congratulations to Rehan Mathew Koshy from Walter Payton College Preparatory High School in Chicago, Illinois who won 3rd Prize in the High School Central Division of the 2026 C-SPAN StudentCam documentary competition for his video titled, “Life, Liberty, and the Zip Code,” about how the values stated in the Declaration of Independence connect to the major contemporary issue of health disparities impacting America, especially his hometown of Chicago.

Next up is our #NextGen simulation with students from @SocialJusticeHs and @comlinkshs in City Hall! @ChiPubSchools students presented their ideas, collaborated with their peers and engaged in discussions on issues impacting Chicago’s youth.

Since March, 482 @ChiPubSchools students have been training hard and building healthy habits. On May 17th, 80 of these amazing runners and coaches crushed their final mile at the @ChicagoHalf! 🏅
