There's a whole industry built around African poverty. NGOs, consultants, conferences, awareness campaigns, celebrity endorsements.
Billions of dollars flow through this system every year, employing thousands of well-paid Westerners.
None of those people have an incentive for the problem to actually be solved, because if African poverty disappeared tomorrow, they'd all need new jobs.
I'm not saying they're evil.
I'm saying the incentive structure is broken, and incentives shape behavior more than intentions do.
Nigeria is a reflection of the people in it.
Someone shot his shot at Victor Osimhen for a jersey and even tagged a vendor.
Osimhen saw it and said he’d personally send one.
Then told the vendor to add 15 more jerseys for others.
-That’s where it got interesting.-
Immediately money entered, the story changed.
The vendor suddenly said Osimhen told him to share it himself.
He claimed he had already picked 15 people.
—Then it got worse— He called the same person who brought him the business a scam.
From there, he tried to “negotiate”: 7 for the guy, 8 for himself.
Greed, plain and simple.
The guy refused and asked for all 15 jerseys as instructed.
—Next thing—
The vendor switched again. Said the post was “stolen” and brought another person to justify it.
—Now here’s the real problem—
Instead of people calling out the wrong, they started defending it.
“Make una settle.” “Na just jersey.” “Let it go.”
- Someone even offered to pay extra, rewarding bad behavior.
And that’s when it becomes clear:
We are not different from the people we complain about in power.
—This is how it starts—
small compromise, small dishonesty, small defense of wrong.
Nigeria didn’t just become this way overnight.
We built it, little by little, with everyday actions like this.
Truth is, many people are only “good” because they’ve not had the opportunity to do worse.
One day, we will have an honest conversation about the double standards on this TL.
One day.
Quite frankly, this calls into question your competence, judgment and even your intelligence.
Anyone who has followed Mehdi's Head to Head for the past 10 years knows the script. Nothing is off limits. They do their research, and put you on the spot.
To admit you weren't expecting to be held to account for your past rhetorics (politics or not) is at best naive and at worst grossly unintelligent.
If it was politics as you claim it is, why didn't you accept that indeed you said those words? You didn't because in that moment you realised it would portray you as a man lacking in principles, values, integrity and a modicum of commitment to any ideological doctrine. It would have made you look (as it is now) like a man who is the perfect description of "anywhere belle face".
That interview was a demonstration of unpreparedness, and an embarrassment to the government you claim to represent.
If there is any reaction for that shambolic display, it should be hiding your face in shame. It's certainly not you coming to social media to obfuscate and pontificate.
Please spare us the BS!
The fix was to simply add BUILDX_NO_DEFAULT_ATTESTATIONS: 1 to the deploy job in the deployment action. This disables the attestations Lambda can't handle.
I had an issue yesterday while deploying on vapor. it fails at "Update Function Code". And there was no details about the error.
To get the error, i first had to remove the without-waiting in the deploy action.
⬇️
#laravel#laravelVapor
Then got the error
AWS: The image manifest, config or layer media type for the source image is not supported
Cause of the issue:
GitHub's CI runner quietly updated Docker to v23.0+, which made BuildKit the default builder. BuildKit adds provenance attestations to Docker images.
I think the world has grown too comfortable, to the point where one is sometimes forced to understand why Trump pursues certain actions. How else can one explain an organisation of nearly 200 members claiming it is going broke simply because one member is rethinking how much burden it should carry? I believe Trump is a long-awaited reality check for the world we have become accustomed to.
