"Just apologize for supporting BIP-110, and we will welcome you back."
These are some of the most cringeworthy posts I have ever seen in the bitcoin space.
I do not give a damn what you and XYZ clique think about my positions on bitcoin.
If you don't like it, cry harder.
BIP110 has an error and that is why it failed.
The UASF phase was supposed to kick in AFTER a 55% activation threshold. During this signaling epoch nodes would reject non signaling blocks. BUT NOT MINERS.
This error caused a premature chain split right away.
We can try this BIP110 again once this implementation error is fixed.
I am currently still mining on the abandoned BIP110 chain just to see if I can find a block in the next few hours or so to have it as trophy because I know it will be worthless. I will mine for a few hours only as it is obviously very costly.
Bitcoin has not died or has been captured yet. The anti Core and anti spam movement has grown tremendously and it is still growing. We just need to try again with a corrected soft fork proposal that does the signaling phase right.
I would like to thank @dathon_ohm for their tremendous work and I hope they can follow up with my suggested fix asap. I also suggest let the activation window float until the 55% threshold is achieved.
Sorry Matt. It’s not over. This is best for the network. It’s better to have a perfect clarity and see the actual problem of collusion and centralization happen than to move on pretending the legacy network was decentralized.
We have nothing to lose by starting new with a POW. So much potential and freedom in being able to see what just clearly happened and make the corrections needed to keep this alive.
This is Independence Day for sound and decentralized money.
Sha256 is the golden calf of Bitcoin. These developers and OG holders worship it like an idol.
The truth is, as we discovered today, it’s not only outdated but it doesn’t scale for a decentralized network.
Did you really think blowing that much capital on some chips controlled by a few companies was actual decentralization? Did you really think that asic hardware was securing Bitcoin? hardware that specialized in a single use case and become obviously captured by 5 mining pools?
There are superior alternatives and now is the perfect moment to display this. To repatch the bug of SHA256, fire the miners who don’t care about the nodes and build an actual decentralized chain that Bitcoin was meant to be.
This is greatest moment in bitcoins history. It’s liberation day. Liberation from the false idols and dogma. Freedom from Fiat corruption in core. The day we stand up to Fabian attacks.
They can’t stop it.
PSA: If you haven't upgraded to Bitcoin Knots 29.3.knots20260508 (or 29.4) yet, you are now vulnerable to double-spending attacks aided by @FoundryServices and @AntPoolofficial .
Upgrade ASAP to avoid accepting counterfeit bitcoins.
