We are a family run Heating company based in Leicester specialising in heating breakdowns and installs. @Whichtraders and @Checkatrade Approved. #NoVanber
@SocialistNHS In sure we pay that already in our taxes. How about we start charging a small fee for foreign visitors to the country like students also people claiming asylum or moving to the country must make a contribution for 5 years or have insurance. All small changes that would help
@MrKlawUK@theheatinghub@_heatgeek@heatableUK Which is a sad state of affairs if you think your contractor is not up to speed with it. Just were we are but at least members of the public are now understanding.
Part of the problem is the green home grants that should be helping reduce bills aren't. Especially missing things like this. Is this a fundamental problem in training? New boiler and stat both capable of using open therm wasted.
@theheatinghub@_heatgeek
@kevinxt@theheatinghub@_heatgeek Open therm has been around for a long time for domestic as far as I no. loads of boilers have the capability but it's never been used.
@Damon_BPHR@theheatinghub@_heatgeek It's more the fact that these things are available and thanks to a few people that I've tagged it's really coming to light the great technology we have available that we aren't utilising.
I know we all have to learn about these things but why is it being teached
@Damon_BPHR@theheatinghub@_heatgeek I agree they are. I do get it tho I think the customer paid very little and the previous boiler which I used to maintain and service yearly was a old non condensing boiler so they should be gaining something in this case.
@Damon_BPHR Not a problem with boys so some women don't really understand. But I'd never let my girls use a man's toilet which probably says more about blokes.
So watching the F1 and the comments from Hamilton about the fuel bio ethinol got me thinking about the gas industry? Is there a case for a bio/ synthetic fuel as a way forward ? Could our current gas network be easily modified to suit ? Would that be a better solution to hydrogen
@kevgasandhtg@EPHcontrols@Danfoss_UK@atagheating I'm drilling it into my apprentice. I do think the colleges are improving. It all feels a bit to late. We have had all this great technology for the past however long and only now it seems to be applied. I'm a firm believer that we have a massive gap in educating engineers
This is is the biggest thing consumers need to understand. All good telling them they need lower flow temperature to save money but if your installer has already put in "smart control" it's done automatically
@custaldo@thoroughflush you may have two dials, but only one will work unless you have an advanced heating control that speaks the same language AND is wired in correctly. Advice on hot water cylinders in the main blog.

@kevgasandhtg@EPHcontrols@Danfoss_UK@atagheating Had the same thing with a customer that was using open therm controls on their combi. But couldn't "turn there flow temperature down" claimed I'd installed it wrong blah blah. Even offered a different stat so they were more comfortable. Another engineer changed it to 240v control
