🚨 I just learned about a concept, I can't stop thinking about.
The Four Burner Theory.
It destroyed Elon Musk's first marriage.
It explains why Bezos is jacked but divorced.
And why Zuckerberg has no real friends.
Once you understand it, your life will never be same:🧵
@coreysfrost Never more than 1 consecutively, but can be more than 1 in an action. I start by pulling one right in the middle of a movement. Or analyze where I’d want more “snappiness”. If 1 frame is noticeable I add 1 frame dissolve for smoothing.
Finally a grounded take on AI & filmmaking from a Hollywood A-lister. I agree with everything Ben Affleck said:
1. Yes, AI will shatter barriers to entry. Budgets will drop, the number of movies will rise, and more voices will have access to filmmaking. Paradoxically, this'll raise the bar for creative quality.
2. Yes, AI will hammer the VFX industry. It's already in a downward spiral, and AI will accelerate that decline. Short term arbitrage oppty, long term an awful business to be in.
3. Yes, customized episodes on demand are inevitable. We'll see new episodes of Game of Thrones long before AI can create an entirely new, coherent and compelling series. Incremental episodes will beat full season automation.
4. Yes, Generative AI is replacing traditional AR filter pipelines. Just look at tools like FLUX AI avatars or Pika Effects. IP holders will create branded content where audiences can "become" the Avengers.
Folks are calling these statements wishful thinking. IMO they're grounded in a clear understanding of the state of the art. Agree/disagree?
@christo_harvey It will def get the job done but I’m clicking and dragging so much more than I do in Avid that it feels quite exhausting. I know friends like @charleslittle2 promote fitness in post but the workout in Premiere is hopefully not what he had in mind!
Using #PremierePro after a few years away is like being forced on a date with an ex. They look different, maybe even better because of the built-in transcription, or the snappy new playback speed, and you think, “Okay, maybe they’ve changed.”
But as the date goes on, the old red flags start popping up—like that decade-old multi-cam audio track bug, lack of ability to change sequence audio settings after creating a sequence, still no way to search markers project wide, and many more feature requests that have been ghosted longer than your texts to your ex.
Then, just when you think you can look past it, the playhead starts randomly jumping to the start of the sequence every single time you tab into one — and always seemingly happening when I'm in the process of moving a clip, ripple pasting, etc — and before you know it, full meltdown crash importing a single file into the media pool! All this with a fresh install, latest release (not beta), and all.
Like huh? How are people using this program for professional paid work? Maybe these issues are MacOS issues only, or maybe Adobe just sends me their worst builds.
At this point, I'm wondering if the ex—or Premiere—will ever really "change", because the fresh coat of makeup and lip filler isn't doing it.

@ChadRubel Sorry. Didnt mean to sound like a creep. I have some friends in the episodic world that might be worth connecting with. I’m like seriously pissed off for you that you’d take AE work after cutting one of my fav shows. It feels like an injustice to me and I’d like to help if I can.
@ChadRubel I think you’ll get through this time and go far. I’d die for a resume like yours.. I think the industry will open up for you. Hang in there!
