When Trump took office in January 2017, I weighed 450 pounds.
His first administration inspired me to not only fight harder for our civil rights, but to face my personal demons as well and lose more than 270 pounds.
Use your righteous anger to improve yourself and the world.
Being a lawyer is an important part of my life, but I’d risk it in a heartbeat to protect even one child from a predator.
This situation is a reminder that doing the right thing doesn’t always bring rewards — sometimes it brings consequences.
You still do it anyway.
An alleged predator priest was working at a Catholic school in New Orleans.
A lawyer warned the principal... only to get fined $400,000 for violating a confidentiality agreement.
Turns out Church officials shared even MORE confidential details than he did.

MAGA cultist Lance Wallnau defends the Trump as Jesus post on the grounds that Trump is still "a baby Christian." The Religious Right has been giving Trump a pass for being a "baby Christian" for a decade now.

No gods. No masters. No oppression.
On #InternationalWomensDay, we stand for women's rights, bodily autonomy, and a world free from religious control.
Equality requires secularism.
“I feel so angry now at the administration because I traumatized my kids,” she said. “I wish I would’ve never joined the federal government.”
Vought got his wish, and now we will all suffer for it.

“Christian nationalists are no longer hiding their agenda — they’re openly working to rewrite American democracy into a religious state,” adds FFRF Legal Counsel @Chris_line. “...we must take a stand before these unconstitutional efforts gain more ground.”

Rep. Yassamin Ansari is agnostic and a member of the Congressional Freethought Caucus, co-chaired by Rep. Jamie Raskin (standing behind her).
The CFC is doing important work pushing back against the Christian Nationalism of this Trump administration.

This billboard was a hot topic of conversation around the office this past week, as you can imagine. FFRF staffer Chris Line shares his thoughts on the latest in the "War on Christmas." https://t.co/cPTOklCrx3
Inclusivity isn’t a loss for anyone — it’s a victory for everyone...The so-called war is over, and reason has won. Let’s celebrate a season of goodwill for all — believers and nonbelievers alike.
Happy Winter Solstice and Reason’s Greetings!

If anyone has cash lying around, a supposed "replica" of Noah’s Ark—no, not the one in Kentucky—is about to be sold to the highest bidder.
But the builder has a caveat: "If they want to turn it into a brothel, I’m not selling."

The countries that have the lowest GDP have the highest level of religiosity.
Places like Senegal, Ethiopia, and Bolivia.
More prosperous countries like Norway, Denmark, and Switzerland are less religious.
The huge outlier?
The United States.
Rich and religious.
Christian nationalist Lance Wallnau says that with Trump in office, "the government and the church" can begin "moving together to build the ekklesia" to take control of "the government mountain" globally. https://t.co/qts0goC5Cf
Lots of Christians already treat atheists the same way they do racists.
They publicly denounce them because they're "supposed to" but deep down they secretly agree.
Stephen Wolfe, author of "The Case For Christian Nationalism," says Christians should treat atheists the same way they do racists.
They should use their "social power" to force atheists out of their jobs and have their reputations forever tarnished.
We can’t allow abortions even if they would save mothers from suffering and death.
We can’t allow those who are suffering to choose to end their lives.
We can, however, kill people convicted of crimes no matter how dubious the circumstances.
UK lawmakers have taken the first big step in legalizing assisted dying.
The proposed bill would let some terminally ill people end life on their own terms. The alternative is forced suffering.

I’m going to put up a counter holiday scene celebrating friends, family, food and festivities. There’s Christians, atheists, and anyone who wants to just have a good time.
But lurking in the back is a zealot whose real goal is to cram Jesus down everyone’s throats.
An Iowa pastor put up a Nativity scene outside his church.
Right in the middle is King Herod, depicted as an atheist whose “real goal is to kill and destroy Christ.”

I'm an unabashed atheist. I believe that religion does more harm than good and anything good derived from religion really comes from humanism.
But, I also firmly believe that if more Christians were like James Talarico, we would have a much better world.
The Texas State Board of Education adopted a new Bible-infused curriculum for elementary school students.
These new lessons elevate Christianity over the other major world religions.
This curriculum is unconstitutional, un-American, and deeply un-Christian.
