WIP on the easel this morning: Two beautiful Ragdoll cats having a cwtch (Welsh for cuddle). Still working on getting all the marks and shapes in roughly the right place, before I start correcting and putting on the thicker paint.
Distressed look. The 'Comma' is a mid sized orange and brown butterfly that has evolved distinctive ragged wing edges with brown undersides to resemble dead leaves, as camouflage. It's named for its comma shaped marking on the underside of its hindwings
@KarenNewbiggin No nothing special Kazzie, they used to call it 'a bit windy', now it's some named storm or other. The weather seems to have a good PR team these days.
Wanted to share a little progress update on what Iโm working on i the studio today. This oil painting is a custom commission heading over to America once itโs all finished.
@KarenNewbiggin Thanks Ms B, it's quite nice sending a little bit of Wales to far flung places. Hope you guys are well, and hunkering down outta this windy stuff.

Flamingos are increadibly noisy! These are Caribbean flamingos and they live at Llanelli WWT. Arguably the pinkest flamingos in the world, they can live well into their 40s in captivity. The oldest known flamingo lived to the age of 83!
Behind the scenes look at my latest work in progress commissioned oil painting capturing the beautiful countryside of Wales. Capturing the crisp afternoon light, the iconic stone walled green fields, and a massive, commanding Yew tree that anchors the entire view.
