The Supreme Court of the United States upheld the constitutionality of the Indian Child Welfare Act (ICWA) with an emphatic 7-2 majority. Writing for the majority, Justice Amy Coney Barrett wrote “The bottom line is that we reject all of petitioners’ challenges to the statute.”
