1/ New Creator Spotlight on Foster.
And what says “Happy Thanksgiving” better than celebrating one of the many artists we’re thankful to host?
Meet @HaykZakoyan — a new media artist from Yerevan crafting visual worlds for live stages across the globe. 🧵
Good Morning! 🤙
Keep yourself warm this holiday season with merch from your favorite artists on @solana
Head down to @foster_protocol , they got the heats. 🔥
This is not hard, unless you don't think very well...
Perhaps the issue lies somewhere between feeling vulnerable in a reflection of emotional-response and the threat of losing social capital by taking a stance.
From a background in criticism (by diction, not connotation), its important to make claims that
1. You think may be controversial, iconaclastic, or even hasty
2. Back those claims up with evidence presented in the piece (this perhaps should be the only appropriate place to suggest an artists background)
3. Evidence the external forces at play to support the claim (this is the art history, social commentary, techniques mastered)
4. Can (and eventually will) be countered and will be met with grace
I want to think I am of the minority mentioned by @celstialbody, consistently writing on artists I think have a unique process to express particular social constructs. Stepping further to interviewing them with @foster_protocol to challenge those views into different words in an attempt to deepen the understanding and keep the conversation going.
I have been corrected by an artist before. It was @RinaGerman_ ahead of OLIT this year. And believe it or not, it didn't deter either one of us from moving forward nor myself from continuing to make artistic assumptions.
You begin to realize that institutions are just that, capital enterprise operating one large donation or sale to another. All the whilst we've been handed a censorship-resistant system to contribute peer to peer and we still seek to operate like the capital markets we're used to...
Instead consider a reality in which all goods are public goods and the only thing we have left is to barter our art.
Would this too look like a vanity pursuit?
And I'm not the one producing art, I'm just a guy who has enjoyed the ability to test my stances against the very artists making the decisions to create.
And I can appreciate it. But so can you.
Art is a pursuit of the "why"s rather than "wen"s.
Hell yeah! @foster_protocol has revamped their marketplace. The new UI is sleek and sexy and accessible.
Kudos to the team for doing an amazing job.
