The primary cause for area faults is typically damage from theft, vandalism and illegal connections.
Residents in Muizenberg, Clovelly, Sun Valley and surrounding areas are reminded of critical maintenance from 19:00 on 27 June to 10:00 on 28 June 2026. An alternative date of 11โ12 July 2026 may be used if required.

The City is upgrading century-old water mains along Govan Mbeki Road as part of the MyCiTi project. The new pipelines will improve water security for Philippi, Philippi East, Gugulethu and surrounding areas for decades to come.

The City is replacing 650 m of ageing water mains in Arnold Street, Windsor Park Estate, using horizontal directional drilling to minimise disruption while improving supply reliability.
The City has completed the main repairs to the Makhaza bulk sewer in Khayelitsha, with preliminary CCTV inspections confirming the repaired pipeline is performing as expected.
