Pine Avenue & Ekwill Street Roundabout Opens July 10 🚧

The new roundabout at Pine Avenue and Ekwill Street opens Friday, July 10, marking another milestone for Project Connect.

The roundabout will open with one travel lane in each direction. Construction will continue as crews complete the Ekwill Street extension, scheduled to open later this year.

🚗 Drivers should expect occasional lane shifts, follow posted signs, and allow extra travel time through the area.

The Ekwill Street Extension Project will improve east-west connectivity through Old Town Goleta, enhance safety, and improve access to local businesses, neighborhoods, and the Santa Barbara Airport.

The #CityofGoleta Celebrates America 250 with a spectacular July 4th Drone Light Show! 🎆
More than 4,000 people gathered at Dos Pueblos High School for the 2nd annual Goleta Drone Light Show, where 250 drones illuminated the sky in celebration of America’s 250th birthday! 🚁✨
🎶 Guests enjoyed music from DJ Darla Bea and saxophonist Gerry Smith Jr., dancing with Tin Lee, carnival games, inflatables, face painting, photo booths, food trucks, and more before the show.
THANK YOU to our amazing sponsors, volunteers, City staff, event partners, and everyone who helped make this unforgettable community celebration possible. Together, we created a night filled with music, patriotism, and memories for all ages. ❤️🤍💙
Special moments included performances by 2026 Santa Barbara Teen Star Brynn Wood, a tribute honoring those who have served and continue to serve our country, and drone designs including a “Go Goleta” image and a soaring eagle. 🦅

🎶 Las familias disfrutaron de la música de DJ Darla Bea y el saxofonista Gerry Smith Jr., bailaron con Tin Lee, participaron en juegos de carnaval, inflables, pintura facial, cabina de fotos, camiones de comida y otras actividades gratuitas antes del espectáculo.

🍪💚 We were thrilled to welcome Girl Scout Troop 55548 to Goleta City Hall! 🏛️✨
Mayor Pro Tem Jennifer Smith (District 3) had the chance to meet this wonderful group of young Brownie Troops as they learned about how local government works and what City Council does to help our community. 🌟
The Scouts asked thoughtful questions, explored the Council Chambers, and even got to sit at the dais where important decisions are made. Who knows…we may have met a few future mayors, councilmembers, or community leaders! 💚
